Im tired of the risk vs reward theory, its good for a fighter coming up in the ranks and trying to establish a career and make some money. But once you are established and gotten your paydays a Champion should prove his mettle by fighting the very best and proving his greatness.

    It's nothing new.

And while in theory it sounds good for a fighter to look after his greatness once his bank account is settled, in reality, it tends to be the other way around.

Fighters reach a certain level in their careers and they want the big fights, big events, big paydays, and it's harder for them to get motivated for the smaller fights.

I am afraid this is only a whishfull thinking. As long as there are corrupt promoters and abc entities, risk would in most cases < reward.

Trinidad never did **** like this, his competition just kept getting better and the guy took challenges and was exciting.....and today he get marginalized by these morons on this forum. Mosely is another great fighter who gets ignored, here's a guy who would step in with anyone and didnt play safety first bull****. Boxing would not be in the state its in if fighters fought the big fights.

blame the fans, not the fighters. Its normal for the fighters to chase money, since boxing is after all a career. But its up to the fans to put their money behind the fights that really matter.

Floyd is fighting ODLH again for money. Should we blame Floyd or Oscar? no. We should blame those who make this fight so damn profitable.

also blame the fans for throwing a fighter in the trash every time he looses.

has nothing to do with it just that these Two guys would fight anyone and took challenges. You only focused on Trinidad. Yes Im a Rican Hugger. But I am a boxing hugger 1st and Im objective and dont overblow or overhype anyone.

In Fairness, those fights happen to land tito a few bucks as well.. Taking on an up and up fighter like Vargas was a hugely marketed payday fight..I would say it really is coincidence mostly..wherever the money is..young/old this is boxing..it will be made

if you disagree with anything he just said right there you can suck a ****. This isn't about hugging anyone. Trinidad and Mosley fought the VERY BEST they could possibly humanly fight. The mear fact that Trinidad could fight Pavlik is PROOF that NO ONE out of the past decade has bigger balls than Tito. Sure hes losing fights now, But look at his god damn record...its stacked with SO MANY names. Thats how it should be and in the perfect world every boxer would be like Mosley and Tito taking on all humanly possible challenges.

The money followed Tito because of the stacked list of opponents that he fought. He fought anyone and the money came to him he didn't chase the money. You could make a case that hes chasing money right now, No one will ever know that - I personally think its a little bit of that and that he wants that 1 last big win in his career. Either way I'd rather have boxers take death walks like he did than fighters who panzy around fighting gimme fights.

Agreed with Mosley and Tito..they actually looked all over the place for fights..I mean Mosley and DLH..it was so farfetched until they fought...Tito..BHOP...yet it was financially rewarding.. this is waht I mean when guys like Guzman and his ball lickers states that no one wants to fight him coz hes high risk..lol...look in all directions..dont call out a guy (PAC) who you know its not going to happen...who the hell are you?

Saying "I am tired of risk/reward rationale" in boxing is like saying "I'm tired of profit maximisation" in business...since boxing is a business...they fight for money, not for glory.:deal

I agree. But professional boxing is all about money and glory; not about medals and glory - that is amateur boxing.
