    Round 1

Cave moves straight in and knifes a side-arm right jab into the body of Valencia. They circle at mid-range, cautiously feeling one another out for a few moments before Cave restlessly darts in with a southpaw 1-2. Cave using his much quicker feet to keep Valencia turning. Cave's team shouting instructions from ringside, asking for the right hook. Valencia moves toward him in straight lines, rocking back and forth on his lead toe and rear heel, pumping out his own southpaw jab, and Cave indeed finds him a willing target for a quick swatting right hook up on the left temple. Cave is baiting Valencia, swapping jabs, dipping and leaning to either side in front of him, and then falling back against the ropes only to recoil upwards like a jack-in-the-box with fast combinations, sending Valencia scampering away.

    10-9 Cave

The homey on phone duty (Alex?) muttered "oh shit, this is gonna die, 10%" just before the first bell, so... be aware. My ability to see the match (and therefore, do a RBR) might end abruptly.

    Round 2

Valencia is walking into combos with every step now, reaching out with the right jab lazily and getting plugged in the lung with both of Cave's gloves and then knocked upside the head from both flanks with big quick looping shots as Cave ducks and rolls bilaterally in a swooping, undulating rhythm. Cave very awkward, catching Valencia with lots of punches he isn't seeing, but few are landing with much authority. Sort of a low-rent Calzaghe vs. Lacy thing happening. Valencia does open up on a few corkers in the final minute, big soaring lefts in particular, headhunting, but Cave is able to show off his slickness and bend in low beneath them while still firing.

    10-9 Cave

Random weird tidbit about Valencia's record: guy has more draws than kayos.

He is 14-3-6 (5). That makes 26% of his professional matches ending in a draw. That is a very strangely high proportion.

    Round 3

Valencia is roping out the right jab haplessly and looking to drill Cave in the chest with his left, but Cave is too slippery and unorthodox, bouncing around, flurrying at Valencia from all sides. The ref warns them both about fouls of some kind. Valencia has some gripe about what Cave's doing; not sure, maybe low blows or kidney punches? Cave is sort of just spraying leather without much concentration on aim while putting the lion's share of his focus into staying a step ahead of Valencia, bobbing and rising like a prairie dog.

    10-9 Cave

Whoops. I guess Alex's portent was on the nose; battery must be dead. Feed just cut off suddenly as the ring card girl was grabbing the "4".

Too bad, was actually mildly interesting, for being a famously boring fighter versus a no-name.

    Round 4

Valencia is rushing Cave and doing a decent job of crowding him and stifling his punches, which already lack in snap (as he isn't setting his feet or turning anything over), but his own attacks fall victim time and time again to Cave's ugly and at times daredevil defensive facilities. Cave is tossing lead lefts off the hip and shoe-shining the body when they close together, all while keeping his skull nimbly woven around the slow and predictable outward pokes of Valencia, neck held loosely on a spring-wire.

    10-9 Cave

    40-36 Cave
