In the history of boxing there have been many amazing displays of toughness, but for me these are three classic cases of great boxers who just refused to go down when lesser men would have said good night, displaying pure toughness in incredible fashion.

Which one of those three would be the titanium chin?

    1) Ali vs Cooper. A lot have been made about Cus' buying time for Ali, ropes stopping his fall, the smelling salts, the bell saving him, etc. But in my opinion, that is missing the main point: Ali got back on his feet in no time after a massive hit. Cooper said in his biography he couldn't believe his eyes when he saw Ali getting up.

    2) Quarry vs Frazier. This one is hard to watch because it is a tragic display of amazing resilience. Jerry was too tough for his own good. If you slow down the video at 3:10 you can even see Jerry's soul briefly leaving his body. It is unbelievable how he managed to stay put after such vicious left hook.

    3) Holmes vs Shavers: It is nothing short of incredible how Holmes recovered after being hit by Shavers, who is considered by many as the hardest HW puncher ever. Larry said that he was actually knocked out cold, and it was the hit in the canvas what woke him up.

Thus, which one showed to own the toughest chin?
Or maybe you can suggest other even more amazing cases of toughness?

    1. Quarry vs Frazier = Because Quarry actually stayed on his feet and that left hook was scary almost took Quarry's head off.

    2. Holmes vs Shavers = Holmes had to last another 30 or 40 seconds which is why I rate it above Ali/Cooper, plus i think Shavers knockdown was more vicious.

    3. Ali vs Cooper = For the reasons stated above.

Tough choice but I´d go with Holmes-Shavers II.

That punch was perfect, hit Holmes flush on an unprotected jaw.

The look on Shavers face at 0.18 seconds. He can´t believe he´s got up, reminds me of Wilder´s expression when Fury got up in the 12th

    round of their 1st fight.

Larry showed amazing recuperative powers to get up from that. Ali did well to get up but was saved by the bell. Don't know how Quarry took that hook & stayed upright.
