Well really robberies happen all the time, everywhere. It's homecooking,it just happens. Germany just has a bad rep about them.IMO mostly due to the bstard son of boxing Ottke.
I thought it an interesting thing to say as it begs a number of questions - what are they calling a title fight (lots of belts out there), what about two German-based fighters (is one always in his "home town"?) and what are comparable figures for other countries? I'm guessing the numbers are "true" for whatever criteria they used, but without knowing that, they're pretty meaningless. Ditto for comparison figures - every country will look bad; 99/100 times the hometown-guy is the favourite.
A lot of it probably has to do with the fact that Universum and Sauerland both like to set up their titlists with **** defenses against the worst opposition possible. I think that's much more of a factor than the judges. Of course the hometown records are going to be good when they're facing guys like DeAndrey Abron and Elvin Ayala and Alisultan Nadirbegov and Owen Beck in their title defenses.
