UUU HELL NO...I HAD ROUNDS 1 2 AND 3 AND 5 TO TITO...THE REST WERE ALL RJJ..U DIDNT SEE THAT UR BLIND....THE 2 KNOCK DOWNS TAKE 2 OF THOSE RDS AWAY FROM TITO...TITO GOT WHOOPED
8 to 4 for Jones plus two knock downs for RJJ. Tito was game, Roy was just better...Tito needs to go down in weight or retire. Either or.
Yeah, I agree. CF is out to lunch on this one. Tito did land flush but also did land on the arms and gloves a lot. He was particularly effective to the body but unfortunatley for Tito, and as I predicted, his power didn't travel up with him.
The sad and predictable thing is after a fight like this there is always one person who will go against the grain, usually in an attempt to get themselves noticed. Most sensible people would see this fight as a Jones win, not matter how they spin the Trinidad positives. :deal
Of course he was. :deal The right hand of Jones to the temple totally took away Tito's legs. You can see he was hurt and couldn't get the leverage in his punches for the rest of the round. He was also on the backfoot to stay away from Jones and see the round out. If anything the second knockdown was more of a flash knockdown than the first. Typical Prescott. You have to love the attention seeking capabilities of this dude. :good
Trinidad was well and truely dominated. I never scored the fight, but on initial viewing Jones would comfortably. Trinidad won about 4 rounds, and Jones scored two knockdowns. To come up with a draw, well and truely astonishing.
Trinidad hit Jones with many hard body shots, and you know what, I dont care if Jones was or was'nt effected by them, the shots were hard and they're point scorers.......while Trinidad did this, the HBO would talk right over it as if it was'nt happening. I think thats the problem with alot of scorers around here, they listen to much to the broadcast analysis, and the dont count body punching. Body shots = points, and Trinidad landed plenty of them!
If anybody is interested, I would suggest that you guys rewatch rounds 8 and 9, these are the two rounds after Trinidad had been put to the canvas in the 7th round by a Jones right hand to the temple...... .....the inclination by alot of people after seeing Trinidad dropped and hurt would be to matter of factly give the next round or two two the fighter that scored the knockdown because you're sensing that Trinidad is still fighting hurt......take a close look at rounds 8 and 9 and you'll find that Trinidad outjabbed and plain outworked Jones, and yes, by fighting on the backfoot. I think alot of you need to get the misconception out of your minds that Trinidad cant box, thus not giving him rounds when he's in retreat. Take a look and you'll see that Jones was outworked in rounds 8 and 9! Trinidad made his final stand so to speak in those rounds and then seemed to fizzle in the final three rounds, which were all Jones on my card!
No divac, Trinidad got beat. He wasen't landing. Over the last 7 rounds. He landed 52 power punches. Most of those were partially blocked. Roy pulled a Winky put up a high guard and Tito swung away at nothing.
Thats absolutely correct of the Winky fight, but not so for this fight. I watched the fight intently and paid attention whether or not the shots were landing....and for the most part they were landing, certainly more than Jones. .....in fact, as Tito was landing shots at Roy in the early to mid rounds, there were various instances where Tito would clock Jones with clean shots, and Roy would clown and fake being hurt....he'd wiggle his hips, he'd do a rooster walk....he did all this clowing after Trinidad hit him, he'd do all of this but he'd leave out the most important part....while Trinidad outworked him and Jones clowned, Jones was'nt doing any puncing back.....sorry folks, but clowning and playing to the crowd should not add points to your scoresheet, round to Trinidad!!! Jones did try a high guard in portions of the fight, and Trinidad scored to the body......reminder, bodyshots count for points!
We know Trinidad was active early. But he got owned the last 8 rounds. He didn't win a round after the 4th.
