Felix Trinidad was 40-0 when he was caught cheating by using illegal handwraps against Bernard Hopkins. Tito was made to re-wrap his hands at the time of that fight. Antonio Margarito was 37-5 when he was caught for a similar offence against Shane Mosley. Margarito too was made to re-wrap his hands in a legal manner. So who cheated in more fights over the course of their career? It is also worth pointing out that at the time, Poppa Trinidad had said 'I have always wrapped Tito's hands in this (illegal) way'.
Don't even compare them. Trinidad could still hit, the guy still had talent and pride. Margarito has no talent, can't punch without rocks in his hands and certainly has no pride or dignity. ****ing loser.
The question is not who cheated in more fights its who is the bigger cheater and clearly its MArgo. Using the wrong tape to gause ratio is way different then casting your ****ing hands before a fight. Most boxing experts didn't really even feel that what Tito was doing made that big of a difference thats why you didn't really get much of an up-roar over it.
Hey come on. Lets not judge the true magnitude of this offense until we've seen just how much of a difference it makes to his game. Margo could very well still be a heavy handed puncher only time will tell. But for know he's a beaten disgrace. He needs to work hard to get his credability back.
I'm not talking about being dignified in defeat. That's the only thing he possibly could of done, in order to even attempt and to earn back an inch of credibility. I'm talking about the fact that he was knowingly willing to hit his opponent with rocks in his hands. The fact that he is very, very likely to have also had them in his hands for other fights, Williams, the Cotto fight, probably the Cintron fight aswell, shouting at Cintron to get up so he could hit him with his ****ing slabs of concrete again while Cintron was on the floor in pain.
Well it was illegal for a reason, and Hopkins' trainer was going to cancel the fight if the rules were not enforced.
No ... they weren't. I didn't realize this was up for debate. It's pretty much a matter of historical record.
