According to Tito's official Twitter, he has signed to face Forrest Griffin again, who'll be stepping in place for Mark Coleman.

Great news there. Much more competitive fight and although Forrest is coming off 2 bad losses its only a year removed from his reign as Champ so if Tito wins hes beating a recent Champio and if Forrest wins he avenges his loss to this is more important then a dreadful Ortiz-Coleman bout. Also who the hell didnt enjoy their first bout ? Ortiz takes him down and brutalizes him with elbows and opens about 2-3 cuts in that first round and arguablly won 10-8, 2nd round Forrest stuffs about 6-7 Tito takedowns atleast and outboxes him with combo after combo, 3rd round Tito lands a couple of clean counter punches to Forrest combos and is able to secure a takedown where he lands good strikes but Forrest lands off his back so the round is hard to score. Im happy its happening it sucks its took 3 1/2 years for the rematch finally to happen considering we had to witness 2 Ortiz-Shamrock fights within a 3 month period right after that fight.

Nice i hope both are 100 % this time around. Forrest needs to keep this fight standing to have a chance of winning. He got dominated in the first round of their first fight. When he kept the fight on his feet he was beating tito ortiiz.

True he did have the advantage on the feet but I wanna remind people Tito did well standing in the 3rd round he landed the clean and more effective shots. Forrest striking has improved though his roundhouses have developed into some of the best and his boxing has tightened up. I thought Tito's striking looked better in the Liddell rematch and he seemed more comfertable striking when he fought Rashad Evans and now that hes spending alot of time with Freddie Roach im sure his hands have improved greatly.

Another thing im curious about in the rematch is how Tito looks now injury wise, in the first bout he had a partial ACL and MCL tear in his left knee which you notice is very heavily taped and he almost pulled out of the Ken Shamrock rematch because of it. Then of course is he any better off now after back surgery ? Im sure training and fighting especially shooting for takedowns with a bulding disk cant ever feel good but will surgery help him regain the explosiveness he had many years ago ? Probablly not but he should be pain free.

Although Forrest has improved his game alot since 06 theres two big things im not convinced he has improved enough. One his takedown defense he was took down 3 times by an injured Tito and since then the only fight where his opponet tried many takedowns was Shogun who was successful on most all of them. The other thing is his guard in that first fight he got battered off his back and had no way to effectivly control Tito's posture and prevent those vicious elbows. Fast forward alittle to his fight with Keith Jardine he is hurt standing up but he seems to recover on the ground but soon after Jardine displays good posture and destroys Forrest with right hands inside his guard and knocks him out. Last December he is doing great agianst Rashad until Rashad catches a lazy leg kick and takes it to the ground (could be something Tito tries) Forrest did a horrible job agian controlling Rashad's posture and was battered and KTFO for his troubles.

Better fight, fair play to Forrest for stepping up. I liked the (rumoured) card before, apart from Tito vs Coleman. Obviously Lesnar vs Carwin is the other confirmed fight.

    Rumoured main card fights:

    Cane vs. Lil Nog
    Almeida vs. Fitch
    Hazelett vs. Parisyan

I'm happy Cane has got a good opponent, I hope he wins as its big fight for him. Been saying it for a while, he is a guy to keep an eye on. He joined ATT not so long ago which will be good for him. Good to see Hazelett back, his fight with Karo should be exciting.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of excuse Karo comes up with if he loses.

I was fighting great and then he went for a flying armbar and the sun got in my eyes and the ref did nothing about it!

This card is insane the worst fight is the main event IMO which is exicting still because Carwin has that power.

totally. tito v coleman seemed to be an ease tito back in fight. tito v griffin is 50-50 ultra competative.

ortiz gets hate cos couture and liddell made him their ***** but ortiz was and still is an elite fighter. ortiz has good wins over forrest, belfort, silva etc he beat evans, went 3 with machida etc

ortiz is a good B+/A- fighter who deserves some respect.

tito v griffin has real meaning.

forrest is a real warrior for stepping back in with elite competition immediately after being blown away.

Elite right now ? I dont know about that. To be fair Tito has been competitve with the best but hasnt scored an actual win since Ken Shamrock exactly 3 years ago. Top fighter still though and IMO will be back in the elite soon.

I'm worried that Griff is going to be in a "aw gee, I just suck" funk for a while if not the rest of his career. If he doesn't take stuff as seriously as he did for the Shogun fight then he'll be in deep **** against Ortiz and anyone else above mediocre.
