Why do people insist on quoting this nonsense. Mayweather went up from 135 and after Corley beat Cotto's gym mate Bruseles to try to get the fight with Miguel. It was Arum, yet again ( who seems to get a free pass with every thing he says or does ) who claimed Miguel wasn't " ready " for Mayweather at that time.

All very well but Cotto had been a 140 fighter for more than 20 fights. Mayweather had had 2.

As for Margarito, what did he have to offer that would have been any better than that other slow as a sloth goon, Baldomir? A bigger punch? Do you honestly believe that would have troubled Mayweather?

It isn't as if the guy could bring educated pressure the way JLC did. I think he would have been beaten as easily as Baldo was.

Camacho was just as fast as Floyd and Tito beat him with ease.

Margarito was going to be a career payday for Mayweather at that point but he took the Baldomir fight instead because

1.He didn't want to risk losing and not getting De la Hoya
2.He wanted nothing to do with Arum
