Trinidad had a really good jab, probably better than Cotto's.

    Tito- 5'11", 73" reach
    Cotto- 5'7", 67" reach.

Tito is 4 inches taller and had nearly a 6 inch reach advantage!!!! Cotto's jab, who what where what?

Tito also had an underrated jab himself. I just don't see how Cotto could survive. He'd have to inflict massive punishment on Trinidad WITHOUT getting touched. Thats almost impossible considering he is the smaller man.

Tito was an absolute monster under 160.

Tito could throw some of the most cleanest efficient power punches that this sport has seen. He is one of the best punchers of all time :happy

Someone else mentioned Cotto has that power that will break you down. Tito had a one punch knockout ability. Tito would knock Cotto out within six rounds.

If the past 3 fights have shown us anything, it's that Cotto is not prime yet and is getting better each fight. He is showing new facets of his game each time out and is just now getting into the mental prime.

So I have no idea. And right now, he is a better boxer than Trinidad ever was, and a better mover.

Perhaps, but Cotto is yet to hit prime. Lets wait and see. The more he becomes a versatile boxer, the greater his chances become against Trinidad. I was watching Vargas v Trinidad again the other day, and Vargas had the most leaky defence i had ever seen. When he boxed against Tito though, and used movement, he did extremely well. Cotto could definitely do this, and as much as people bag Cotto's defence, it was far and away better then that of Vargas. Watch the fight again, if you haven't for sometime, i personally found it to be interesting to compare the standards of the two fighters. I think Cotto could certainly hang with Trinidad, although he needs to be far more proven as a boxer puncher against top guys before anyone would pick him in this match up. He has looked very strong thus far at welter, and he is STILL improving. We have yet to see the best from Miguel Cotto.

I agree, and the chin seems to be better at 147 for some reason, and Torres hit him with some huge shots. Chop just got him with a Temple punch and those hurt anyone.

Cotto is more versatile than Tito was. :good

I think 'JUST ENOUGH' is a bit of an understatement, lol. The man breaks peoples faces in half and seems that these welterweights are unable to handle his power, or strength.

I just cant see Cotto staying away from Trinidads power all 12 rounds.

I have a suspision he would get lured into trading shots and get dropped. Trinidads chin wasnt that bad at 147 like it was made out to be. He went down but always got back up. I think he could take Cottos shots but Cotto couldnt take his.

Cotto has become a much better boxer in recent fights, but I think he still would want to trade a bit.

I agree with the other guys who say Cotto is still improving. If he becomes even more of a boxer than maybe he could beat trinidad, maybe. But as he is now I think Trinidad lands his power shots and wins TKO.

Cotto is a more complete fighter than Trinidad, but damn.. Trinidad was one hell of a puncher.

I want to say Cotto, but in reality I think Cotto would be one mistake away from getting knocked out. Trinidad isn't an easy guy to put away, but I could picture Cotto winning as well.
