That would be a great ****ing fight. Not sure who would win that. But, I would pay big money to watch it. Two excellent fighters who can both bring the heat.
I'd take Trinidad by KO at either weight. As brilliant as mid 80s Curry was, I think he was too stationary for Trinidad. Curry was the better technician, but Trinidad, on top of being the better puncher, had more intangibles and better stamina. I doubt Curry's chin holds up under Tito's power.
This would be a great match up,,,Curry looked fantastic at 147 but for a short time. Curry could outpoint him but I'd make Tito a sleight favorite and I wouldn't bet on it.
Puncher's chance for Trinidad but at his best I could see Curry outclassing him. Trinidad really struggled whenever someone backed him up. Looked clueless in that situation against Hopkins and Winky. Granted, both of those guys were bigger than Curry, but based on styles Curry is a nightmare for Trinidad, everything he struggled against rolled into one. Curry was obviously a smart technician, very quick and hard to catch - but he also did all of this on the front foot and could make good fighters / punchers retreat. Yes, they weren't quite star names, but Curry really was starting to look frighteningly good by the time of the Colin Jones and McCrory fights. Remarkable how little he got hit considering he was carrying the fight, was busy and throwing such a good variety of shots. Amazing accuracy and economy of punches / movement. Shades of Napoles. If they fight a series then at some point of course Trinidad is going to nail him and put him down for a count, especially if Curry overdoes it with that occasional habit of jumping back from exchanges with his hands low, like he did against McCallum. But I think Curry wins a few of them too, and the ones he does win, he wins big while making Trinidad look a little foolish.
