I like Floyd against Trinidad but not against a prime Wilfredo Benitez...I think Benitez puzzles him

Ultimately, his guard, counter-punching, and judge of distance all win him the fight, so I agree; I just don't think he'd do it circling like Oscar did.

At `47 I think its a tough fight and Id give Floyd a slight edge but he wouldnt come out without some damage. He would have to dig deep.

`54 Tito was too strong. He would move Mayweather with even glancing blows and eventually break through.

I'm surprised at how easy many see this fight.Floyd's fought no one above 135 with the kind of range and offensive ability Tito had....most of them really nowhere even near.

Who's the rangiest best offensive fighter he fought? a five years past prime Oscar and he didn't impress there.Neither man did imo.

This is a man who struggled to contain the pressure, physicality and offense of Jose Luis Castillo intially and went very safefty first to get the win 2nd time around.I didn't see the kind of improvement in moving up in weight that wouldn't make me cast my mind back with huge worry to those fights against a fine but not great lightweight pressure workhorse if i was a Mayweather supporter and he was going in with Tito.

Now tito isn't a thinking adaptable fighter and tactically inept\stylistically vulnerable enough to a slick stylist that maybe Floyd could pull off a great win if he fights smart and cautiously, but if he doesn't manage to get Tito's respect then his... move-plant feet to counter-move-plant feet...rinse and repeat approach could see him forced onto the defensive for too long to generate the kind of offense needed to win.And it's not like he has a nice rapid fire busy jab to pile up points on the move with...he'll need to stand still and do his Don Curry punchpicking thing to score points.

Tito would be in punching range himself whenever Floyd plants his feet. That means a tough fight for me due to the size and strength gap. What you are likely to see is Floyd punching less and the workrate going down from what we are used to...not a good thing for him at all.

I won't even mention the aggressive countering boxer-puncher style Floyd has used in some of his fights around Welter. While it may look impressive against a certain level of fighter, i don't feel Floyd has nearly the power or physicality to do that against numerous very good or great Welters and not either get beat or take serious damage in winning

Surely no one thinks Floyd fighting the way he did against Mosley or Cotto beats Tito?.

A better version of the summary of my thoughts.

Tito is at least a level above any offensive force Floyd has ever faced, and if he's getting spaghetti legged against an ancient Shane and rocked on the back of his heels by Zab Judah, I question if he can take too many hits from a prime Tito.

Floyd would make him look silly in spots, but if he is planting his feet to get off shots against an advancing Tito, Trinidad will eventually find the range and nail him. I see half this fight being spent with Floyd getting trapped in the corners of the ring and taking some big shots whilst there.

He's not going to run around the ring non stop to keep the fight away from the ropes. Far inferior fighters have trapped him there.

    I was surprised too.

I think it's not an easy fight for Floyd at all.

Definitely disagree with the whole "Floyd is better that Oscar hence he should win much easier than him" thing.

Harder punching bigger Oscar didn't run in the latter rounds just because he decided to do it for no reason.

It would have been a very hard task for Floyd to keep Tito at bay.

I pick Floyd...but I'm far closer to sweet's and lora's opinion then some of the more ridiculous calls in this thread.

You can punch so many holes in the Oscar comparison if you are going to use it to say Floyd wins easy...there enough in it to say he wins, mainly because of what lora pointed out about Tito's lack of adaptability but I can't see how you can conclude that Floyd shuts outs Trinidad based on both their 147-154 resume...It's pretty laughable really.

The 30 punches a round Floyd is going to be willing to throw won't be enough for him to win ridiculously wide.
