I highly doubt he had hand wraps that enhanced his punching power. According to the Hopkins camp his hand wraps were wrapped illegally according to the WBA rules. I don't think it was anything more than mind games. Mind games that Vargas and Joppy seemed to bitterly enhance possibly to discredit Trinidad and make their losses look less humiliating (not that they are but it could be for fighters that had never been stopped before).

See this is what I am talking about. If Tito's hand wraps violated a WBA rule it would be pretty easy to say which rule it was and where it could be found. Like there is a rule that says that you have to use no more than 10 feet of gauze and Tito was using 11 or something liek that. You can't say that a guys wraps were illegal if you can't say specifically what about them was illegal

I understand, but something must have not been according to the rules since they did make Trinidad wrap his hands several times before the fight.

Very simple, the other guy's corner complaint, so let's do it again.

Tito's gloves were skimmed against Hopkins. But thats perfectly legal and within the rules. His hands were meant to be illegally wrapped for the Joppy fight. The bandaging must be spread evenly across the hand and knuckles. No tape over the knuckles of a clenched fist.

Apparentley, Trinidad was applying the knuckle pad and heavily wrapping it with tape, then wrapping the gauze around the area that was taped. Things were hidden. Illegal and spotted by Nazim Richardson.

The other corner inspects the wraps before all fight. I guess DLH, Whitaker, and a ton of others just FORGOT to take a closer look.

But eh biggest piece of bull**** came from Joppy and Vargas, who only claims AFTER Hopkins said something that they were warned prior to their bouts w/ Tito. And yet they did nothing about it. Joppy was supposedly warned by Rahman (how he knew is unknown) and vargas by someone from Puerto Rico, who who would not say whom in order to protect them. But they only said something aftetr Hopkins made a fuss.

Bottom line is, if some people really want to believe he cheated, they will no matter what.
