Roy Jone @ 170 - Former HW champ enough said!
Winky Wright @ 160 - No excuse, Tito looked bad in this one.
Bernard Hopkins @ 160 - Former Light Heavyweight champ.

    William Joppy - @ 160 - KTFO in Five!!!!
Ricardo Mayorga @ 160 - What a fight! Tito softened him up now everybody wants to fight Mayorga.

    @ 154 and Below, Look!!!!

    Pernell Whitaker - HOF
Oscar De La Hoya - Undefeated when they met
David Reid - Undefeated when they met
Fernando Vargas - Undefeated when they met
Yuri Boy Campas - Undefeated when they met
    Macho Camacho - HOF
Oba Carr - Undefeated when they met
Maurice Blocker - First Tite shot

These are all top tier guys Tito managed to beat all of them most of them below 154lbs, only lost to men much bigger than him that were also better boxers.

Now is he a top 5 all time great WW?

With the Robinson, Hearns and Leonards????

    I think so!

Ya'll must have forgot so let me remind you.

Not everyone, but there is a respectable number. But some people here try to discredit Tito's legacy big time.

Top 15 Welterweight for sure IMO, I don't think he cracks the top 10 though in arguably the deepest division in boxing history.

Looked damn impressive against Joppy, who, whatever his shortcomings, proved himself to be a very tough fighter and Tito butchered him.

    No doubt a legit ATG.

the bottom line is whether he was top 5, top 10, top 15 or whatever, we won't ever have to argue about how good his resume is, because, like a long list of TRUE champions before him (hagler and carbajal spring to mind immediately), he took on the absolute best in his divisions and beat most of them... so we won't ever have threads like how good was b-hop's resume, how good was calzaghe's resume, how good was roy jones' resume, etc? THERE IS NO DEBATE ABOUT TITO

if margarito fights either one of clottey or williams then goes on to unify the division he will also go down as one of the best WW's of all time. probably won't happen but you never know( I do think the one fighter out there that can beat him is Joshua Clottey, Paul Williams 50-50 but Clottey i'm pretty sure just because of his great chin and speed/power that he can beat Margarito with the correct tactics).

    Top 5 WW all-time? Nah.

I don't blame Tito, I blame Don King (whom Trinidad sued to try to get out of the contract so he could get bigger fights), but for most of his WW reign (except for 1994 which was a very good year), Tito's opposition was less than stellar.

Once Don King started properly promoting him (Chavez was done by the late 90s and Tyson left King), then Trinidad started getting the big fights he rightly deserved.

I think I've watched the Trinidad-Vargas fight more than any other fight.

that one fight made me fall in love with boxing all over again

    talk about true warriors

compare that 154 lb championship to some of the bull**** we've been fed recently in that division
