They try to hard to be Mayweather and not enough trying to be themselves. They are talented fighters but too protected, and they are not matched well enough to develop their skills.
Didn't take Tyson that long to get a few good fighters did it? TMT has been around a while now compare the stable to the one Oscar had after the same time in business it would be a total different story. Fact is Mayweather isn't going to do anything as a promoter his stable is not good enough and at the end of the day he stills needs GB to co promote his own fights.
Floyd is an outstanding fighter. However, his personality does not necessarily translate to being a good promoter. He has a contentious personality that works well when he is dissing an opponent or hyping one of his own fights but I think that could present a problem when he puts on his promoter hat. Would you feel he has your best interests at heart when you see the way he lives his own life? I don't think a serious-minded up and comer would. Some guys will sign just because they want to be around Floyd but not many, imo.
Those fights last night were nothing like watching ohhhhh, let's say Iron Mike promotions. Every card he's done was action packed and every opponent matched evenly in skill, and physical toughness. Last night was nothing like that and part is due to management, match making, and questionable promoting. A lot of it is having a smart all around promotional firm with a leader with a vision and understanding and is not full of himself because it's about making great fights and having fighters with actual potential progress
