Americans embrace Pac, his image and story moreso than "they" do for one of their own in Floyd....simply because Floyd's a lil bit of a loose cannon...you just don't know what he might do or say next....which is part of his appeal. Pacs appeal is more on having an interesting "rags to riches" story where an unlikely little fighter went on to accomplish HUGE feats......easier sell than a guy who calls himself "Money"....beats women....shows little respect for others and doesn't really show any humility.

If a ****** can do all of what Pac has done, then that is a ****in high functioning ******....or a Damn savant....becuase the only ****** who had any kind of success was "Corky".....you remember him right? Not even fair to compare.

Some are highly critical of Pacs catch weight fights....which were with 3 fighters....Marg, JMM and Cotto. Sugar ray had a few catch weight fights.....Armstrong....BHOP....Jones jr... The list goes on and on....even Floyd had a catch weight fight....so that only is a point "haters" have to discredit Manny...that and claiming Pac lost all 3 fights with Juan....that's just silly **** right their....JMM won one in my opinion....Pac won one and the first should have been a draw.... All 3 were close, compeitive fights. That's reality....again, some see things differently, but they are a small group.

train wrecks are interesting and compelling......so is Floyd....its not that Floyd is funny, cool or has an amazing personality....his drama filled life and flamboyant lifestyle compells US viewers to tune in.....looking for the next train wreck that seems to be attracted to Floyd like Asians to rice.

There are pros and cons being more of a "side show" than a figure of prominence and respect. He gets people to pay attention....but he also is ridiculed and under a Micron microscope....its a tough life for anyone.

Manny is coming to the end of his career but he will still sell over a mill in his 4th fight with JMM. It's really simple.....Pac is still a US Draw.

they embraced him when he was winning and looking impressive. Now nobody cares. His last fight couldnt break a million buys. Manny's 15 minutes are up. The more time goes by the less relevant he is. Like I said, a novelty. Now hes just a fading great with one foot out the door who might snap at any moment.

this isnt the argument. The argument is without a doubt Floyd is more then Manny, knows how to keep his name in the media, and naturally draws attention. Not to mention Floyd is actually becoming more exciting with age. Floyds ppv have remained steady. His appeal especially among the hip hop generation is exploding.

As for the Manny is a saint schlop. It was heartwarming 2 years ago before we found out about the hookers, corruption, gambling, adultery, arrogance and bible bashing.

The *******s have gone, the media hardly talks about him and only in relation to Floyd.

Nobody here think this is all a plot by 50 and floyd to keep all the money???

  6. Well you can not see what is in front of your face. You seem to think Pacquiao has lost a fight to JMM lol yet I can find no record of JMM winning only a draw at best.
Haters hate so keep on hating mamaluke

Manny's super stardom was built partly because of Floyd. he was being hyped as "the guy who can beat floyd" constantly fighting his leftovers and making a name off of PBF. he's been exposed recently, and not many people believe he can compete with floyd anymore, thus his popularity has gone down. now, people are looking for that "new hope" to beat floyd.

two uncomparible fighters. pac was turned into an overhyped media creation to counteract another true boxing star. his superstar career revolves around floyd. not the other way around.

Nah......Pac sold over 700 units fighting Tim! That's similar numbers he put up against Josh...another no named fighter. Pretty impressive since Pac was the only name carrying that PPV event.

Pacs not a "novelty"...again.....TIME has done pieces on guys like Ali.....presidents and other global figures.... If novelty has a new definition then you could be right in your assesment...but unless you think Ali was a novelty then I guess Pac is in good company. I think its safe to say the chances of Pac snapping before Floyd flying off the hinges is about as likely as Curtis Jackson NOT breaking off Floyd's "fiance" (Ms. Jackson) when he was locked up.

Floyds PPVs fluctuate depending on the strength of his dance partners name....just like Pac. More popular fighters help carry the PPV numbers more than less popular fighters.
How Floyd stays in the public eye is his choice but he has shown that he struggles with the kind of "attention" he receives. Again.....a double edged sword that cuts both ways.

There's more news about Floyd simply becuase this latest "train wreck" saw him released from jail for beating up mother of his children.....that's natural....more and more Pac is in the news for his next fight.....not in relation to a fight with Floyd....most have gotten over that. If it happens, great but no one is holding their breath.

Pac has been under the same electron microscope that Floyd is under.....but a lot of men cheat on their wives.....hell, Martin Luther King broke off a lot of women that were not his wife yet he's still beloved.....a lot of people gamble...look at Floyd...its an addiction and Pac has made it public that he's working on those inner demons....

people like to see someone who don't make excuses for their flaws.....but go about fixing them. And a little arrogance is acceptable when you're as good as Pac and Floyd.

The Pac-Floyd saga just went into full throttle after his pac's KO over Hatton, then cotto, then clottey, then blah blah blah. And Pac was already making his own name after the 1st barrera fight. It just came into Floyd's path after the world proved that Pac can fight at 140+. And the boxing world wants a replacement figure after Calzhage-Floyd run. When Floyd returned to the ring, they were already pitting them agaisnt each other for a mega fight.

just 2 greats crossing an inevitable path, wherein both of them doesnt want to collide with each other of it was just a detour on the road (arum)
