Still debating where because there's just so many fighters that may have a better case because of the amount of fights, weight classes and HOF wins but Usyk is certainly within the Top 50 all time. Perhaps within Top 15 ATG HW for me. Really depends on who else he fights and when he retires.

Where would you rate him? Ya its kind of hard since he only started fighting heavyweight at 32. The boxers are so much bigger than they were back then though. He has no resume but he looks pretty good at 38 years old. Kind of like Lomachenko in that all we really have is the eye test.

Wilder getting in??? Lmfao you mean the same wilder this forum called an unskilled bum and trashed for years??? That wilder??? Log off!

When your best win is Tyson fury you're not the GOAT of anything you overzealous fool. Usyk is a true atg but this constant overrating people based on if you like them and trashing better more accomplished fighters has to stop especially when they don't have the resume. This forum is very pro Usyk but it's not a true representation of the reeal world boxing writers and historians are not on this forum and won't share your irrational views they will not look at Usyk's era and have great memories of it nor will they rate his competition as anything special over the likes of lewis ali or even wlad. It's not my fault you refuse to acknowledge level of comp and don't think true goats like Ali aren't special. Lastly quit hiding behind an alt like a ***** pussie.

The boxing nostalgists and the he's great but crowd would've crucified him had he lost to Dubois at the weekend despite him being 38.5 y/o

And just imagine what they would be saying if Dubois had pushed him on the backfoot and knocked him out. It would immediately cited as proof he would've lost to *insert great aggressive/pressure fighter's name* from a previous era

I saw someone today claim James Toney would beat him or they'd give him a very good chance of doing so :risas3:

Toney has nothing, as skilled and slick as he was, in his arsenal that would ever enable him to beat Usyk

Usyk has an iron chin, great defence, fast hands and feet, is very athletic, fluid and coordinated, is physically strong, has amazing footwork, sublime skills, very high ring IQ, power, accuracy, versatility, adaptability, can overcome any style, can box equally well on the front or backfoot, stand in front of you and box your ears off using lateral movement, walk you down and beat you up, a fantastic engine, a fierce will to win, discipline, work ethic, and a big heart

And he's one of the mentally strongest fighters I've ever seen. He's fearless and has unshakable self-belief and you cannot intimidate him or break him mentally. He's never going to let the occasion, the magnitude of the stage, or intimidation tactics get to him.

He's bulletproof and he has no real weaknesses and his speed, skills, footwork, defence and elusiveness alone would cause many of the fellow greats lots of problems and be enough to get him the W against many of them, let alone when you factor all the rest and he's going to make all the SHW sized giants look cumbersome or more so than they are

Remember Usyk ''can't box on the backfoot'' and all you have to do to beat him is ''pressure him and push him back''

Except, duh, as I'm been saying for years, he can box on the backfoot as well as anyone and he has been doing it his whole career, amateur and pro, when he wants or feels the need to do so.

This guy he's fighting here was a great amateur: Olympic gold, World Amateur gold & bronze, and 2 x European gold medalist, went onto win gold in this tournament (Usyk won bronze) and he'd been boxing 14 years when they fought each other here, twice as long as Usyk had. It was the last time Usyk lost a fight and he definitely did not deserve to lose in my opinion and the opinions of many others.

Watch the first round and see how elusive Usyk is on the backfoot and in particular towards the end of it when he's slipping punches on the ropes and remind yourself that you're watching a HW (equivalent of CW in the pros) moving like that. He's as light on his feet and agile as a 135 pounder and his reflexes are razor sharp

Another instance of him boxing on the backfoot. A better example vs a pressure fighter. He's been doing it his whole career.

Just apply pressure. Yeah, and get your ears boxed off whilst you're swiping thin air

“I do believe if [Usyk] goes on the back foot, he wins every single round,” said Bellew. “He's the hardest man in the world to hit. If you let Oleksandr Usyk go on the back foot and you press him all night, you're in trouble, you're not going to catch him.

“Just watch the Murat Gassiev fight,” said Bellew, citing Usyk’s virtual shutout victory over the feared power-punching Gassiev, who struggled to land anything of consequence, “and you'll understand that's why I chose to box him. Chasing him is the worst thing in the world you could do.”

I was excited by it I called it Usyk's best performance at Heavyweight.

But people go overboard with the hype Usyk is not close to being GOAT and quite frankly none of the top 10 P4P fighters right now are either.

And what annoys me is you have people discrediting Ali to enhance Usyk's reputation and without Ali alot of greats you've seen in last 30 or 40 years wouldn't of even existed because he had some of the biggest impact on boxing ever.

Even Usyk admits Ali is the GOAT at Heavyweight it's a shame some of the clueless people here aren't as humble and knowledgeable as Usyk.

I think Uysk called Ali the GOAT in general not just for heavyweights but can't fully remember the statement.

He looks very good which is why I said he's an atg and a top 45 atg fighter. Usyk cant help his level of opposition he can only fight who's active during his career.

I can't remember exactly either TBH but Ali for me is the clear GOAT at Heavyweight for the impact he had on the sport and his resume is just ridiculous that no other Heavyweight can compare.

Someone in this thread made a good point that Ali, Louis, are the clear number 1 and 2 and then there's a big gap between the next Heavyweight and I agree.

Usyk for me right now is just outside the top 10 but if he beats Parker then he goes in my top 10 list.

Most fighters from the past would be cruiserweights, or around 200lb like modern cruiser. If they are discussed as HWs but not Usyk at the same weight, doesn't make sense.

I think it was one of those questions when they ask boxers boxing questions as a theme and Uysk listed Ali as his GOAT in boxing.

Why are you so worried about this. No one is debating the legacies of Ali and Louis. Both had a crossover appeal for different reasons that transcended the sport. With that said, Uysk is every bit in their class as a fighter. He has cleaned out his era just like they did. Clearly you names on resumes factor in on how you rank guys. I'm assuming you have Billy Conn as a better name on a resume than Dubois. Do you really think 170 pound Conn would stand up to the 240 Dubois? History will remember Conn as the better fighter but is he? What would Uysk have done to Conn? Could Louis beat a 240 pound Dubois? It’s a tricky thing comparing era's but most that know the sport can clearly see that Uysk is a very special fighter and nothing like anyone that Louis beat.

I wish people would stop citing Usyk saying other fighters are better than him or are P4P#1 over him. He loves Ali but he's also incredibly humble and deeply religious and he's never going to put himself on that pedestal. He ranks opponents of his he's beaten twice above himself for goodness sake
