convince me as to why Hatten has a snowball's chance in hell to beat PBF. I've only seen two of Hatten's fights, so I'm not real confident in my anaylis of him. The way I see it, the last time (only time) he fought at welterweight he was given all he wanted (many think he lost) against Collazo. He wasn't able to hurt Collazo. Luis was able to handle Hatten's aggression rather easily. Solid boxing and quickness seemed to bother Hatten. My understanding is that Hatten attributed his poor performance to fighting at a heavier weight (I guess his power was somewhat negated). He then took two fights at light welterweight, winning easily against an aging Jose Luis Castillo.

I really want Ricky to win. I don't like PBF, but I can't imagine Ricky actually getting close enough to Floyd to do any damage. I can't imagine Ricky handling PBF's speed and defensive skills. I really expect the fight to look similar to Floyd v. Gatti.

Please, "TRUE" Hatten fans (i.e. the guys who have seen this kid fight a lot)...convince me I'm wrong. I really want Ricky to win.

I was really rooting for Hatton in this fight but after arguing with these delusional England cornflakes Im really gonna stand by PBF to put a bad beating on this guy and send him back to his funny smelling country.

Floyd also had problems with Zeb. I think Floyd will have problems early, but will figure out HattOn by the 4th round or so. Round 1-4 will tilt slightly in Hatton's favor, but he'll spend a lot of energy to get a round or two edge...The middle/late rounds should see PBF picking HattOn apart. Also, ODLH is a hall of fame level fighter...granted, he is at the end of the road physically, but still, everybody has problems with Oscar.

My fan status of hatton has certainly dwindled over the last couple of years but he has more than a snowballs chance against Mayweather. Sighting the Collazo performance is problematic because of two reasons, teh first being Collazo's big size advantage over Hatton, which Mayweather won't have, that limited Hatton's ability to outmuscle fighters at 140 and bully them around. Floyd has fought at 130, Collazo has fought above 147.

The second reason is that Collazo is a southpaw, which Floyd isnt, and Hatton has a big problem with them as a rule of thumb. The first time he was knocked down and in trouble was against a southpaw.

Floyd is not a southpaw and will be nowhere near as big or strong as Collazo nor will he carry the same kind of power.

Hatton has superb footwork and is pretty quick of hand and carries good power and his pressure style combined with the wrestling (hate it as i do) give him a live underdogs chance of the upset.

Floyd is not unhittable, he is not unbeatable, I think he takes this by a decision but if Hatton is a snowball in hell then he's one big fecking snowball.

Seriously if you've only seen him fight Collazo and Castillo then I'm not surprised you think this.

Go watch the first 5 rounds against Juan Urango and you can see Hatton box, move in and out of range with great footwork and mobility, totally confuse his opponent with a varied arsenal of shots.

Then try and watch him Mike Stewart, Ray Oliveira or Vince Phillips. Those fights were when Hatton was in his mid 20's, just before his peak, and showed how ruthless and merciless he is. It shows how he can just keep adding more and more pressure, unrelenting barrages that just overwhelm his opponents.

Finally watch him fight Kostya Tszyu, see how he uses the clinching and holding to take an exceptionally talented fighter totally out of his comfort zone and out of his rythym. Its not the prettiest win by Hatton, but its against someone with pedigree and class.

After watching those fights you will see that Hatton offers much more than hook n hold, wrestling and a good left-hook to the body. I dont fancy Hatton's chances come Dec. 8th but I'd be surprised if he didn't offer a lot of resistance to Floyd. I reckon he'll shake floyd, rough him up badly, bruise him and cut him, but lose narrowly on points. Whatever happens I think you'll never see Floyd fight someone as dangerous as this again so savour it while you can, coz Floyd's gonna have to be at his brilliant best to overcome Hatton. He cant coast his way past this guy, he has to put it all on the line. For me, thats what makes this fight so interesting.

Mayweather has been here before...aggresive body punching brawler types. But Hatton has fought no one near as fast and tricky with all the natural talent plus conditioning second to none that Floyd posseses.Floyds bull neck and solid structure help him absorb hard punches.Floyds chin is sound and his midsection is hard as a rock.No way is Ricky going to turn this around with a big punch. And in his quest to wear Floyd down, he'll leave himself haggard.Floyd hs the ability to make his opponents work hard while accomplishing little. At the same time Floyds foes wear themselves out trying to catch him, but just catching punches.
Floyd by UD or late round tko.

Take the Jesus Chavez fight and imagine Chavez with about 5x the skill, tenacity, conditioning, and meanness. That's more than a snowball's chance.

I agree...I didn't think Cotto could handle PBF's speed...I didn't think he was ready (figured he would need a few more fights)...but after the sugar shane fight, I agree, PBF would have problems...major problems...with Cotto.

Dailymotion has the Mike Stewart Fight, the first round of Oliveira Hatton is on Youtube, as is Kostya Tszyu.

Also watch his fight with Eamonn Magee. Magee was a nasty southpaw, and had Hatton is serious trouble in the first 2 rounds, but Hatton adapted and ********* him. Shows a side to Hatton that not many knew he had.

Collazo was simply an example of a fight (one of two) that I saw of Hatton's. The second didn't mean anything and in the Collazo fight, he looked horrible. I see now that I can't really compare a WW Collazo and a WW Mayweather b/c the size, power differences. So, it appears that the weight won't matter much (since neither are "true" WW).
