    Could beat these modern heavyweight giants you have to remember modern sports science is a phenomenon they didn't have the privilege of having access to. Usyk did well, but Fury's tactics were all wrong.

    What new sports science do you speak of ? Imo any sports science in boxing that didn't exist then is mainly for the health, recovery and preventing build up of injuries or brain damage. Conditioning too, but many fighters back then had it

    Training and athletic preparation methods have diversified but the fundamentals of boxing haven't changed and the body mechanics were already well understood

    When people say that, they don't mean if you transported Ali from 1970 to 2024 for one night. They mean if the fighters from previous decades had the same benefits that modern fighters might have (or vice versa). A pound-for-pound sort of thing.
