1. What does that have to do with what I said? 2. Is he officially a Light Heavy? He fought Rodriguez at 168, I figured he took 172 to get back into the groove of cutting weight, we don't know.
just like that fanboy said, he's making 2 mil to fight high school janitors, why should he risk permanent brain damage or even worse? in fact he will be fighting some taxi driver named TBA on Cotto's undercard. That boy Jay Z is a dumbass, he'll be joining another re****ed rapper in bankruptcy in no time, all thanks to SOG
:rofl These Ward haters are hilarious they don't want to see him in the mix because they know he will beat their favorite fighters. Is this boxing or is this favorites? I mean you have guys on boxing forums actively campaigning against fights from being made with an elite fighter because they say a guy is boring or not a draw. This is the same type of **** that happened to Rigo. There is something seriously wrong with your sport when this type of stuff is happening with fans wishing some fighters would just go away even though their still prime because they don't like them.:rofl
That's where he fought, ONCE. That fight was officially a Light Heavyweight bout. If he moves back down to 168 for his next fight, he's a Super Middleweight.
Kovalev I'd say is pretty proven he beat Hopkins and Cleverly (not a great win but a title holder) and has most of the belts around his waist reminds me of lightweight about 10 years ago when Juan Diaz had all the belts and Casamayor had the Ring belt but they never collided. I know most like to fling mud at Ward for not facing Kovalev but I think the fight we must clamor for is vs Stevenson we gotta make it a mission as fans to push for this fight to get made like Floyd Manny did or Wlad vs Haye did but hopefully it doesn't take as long GGG I'd say is pretty proven, sure he hasn't beaten one of the "names" yet but he has taken on a lot of difficult fighters, guys that gave his contemporaries big problems in the ring and he wiped them out with ease. You can argue someone else got to his victims first but he did it infinitely better. I think he is going to destroy Lemiuex but may not find another big fight at his weight unless the fight pulls in real money. I'm hoping he can lure an Andy Lee or a Peter Quillin or a Danny Jacobs next I went to see Ward fight Froch in Atlantic City and saw him dominate a great fighter both inside and out backwards and forwards with his left and his right and was really something to watch live. Sadly whether it be injury or politics he hasn't replicated that, well actually he destroyed Dawson who just beat Bhop so I guess he did one more time. Ward was on a crazy ascent as a fighter and beat some very good operators but he has really wasted his success whether or not its was his fault. Why did Ward sue Goosen? Did he feel he could get more money elsewhere? Were they ripping him off? They got him all homestands in the Super 6 then a PPV fight with Dawson I never could figure that out. Either way boxing needs these guys to face each other eventually. GGG is either going to clear out 160, he has no challenges there or they are going to not materialize there, he has to move up soon. Ward beat the top guys but some new ones have emerged like Degale who I'd really like to see him fight. Kovalev still has Stevenson or even a Pascal rematch if not both. I don't mind these 3 taking care of a little more business at their weights first
Of course. And after he beats Kovalev, you same GolovIdiots will then demand that he fight Klitschko...
Ward cleaned out 168 against top opposition. Bumlovkin, OTOH, has done nothing other than knock over TOMATO CANs.
isn't Ward a gold medalist at light heavyweight in 2004 olympics? so the weight card is not valid, not for Ward nor his fans. maybe he wants to fight at 168 hoping he can dry out Kovalev like he did with Dawson:huh
He hasn't yet beat the best guy in his division, Adonis Stevenson. Until that happens, he isn't as proven as Andre Ward...
I didn't say he was as proven as Ward but I said he is proven, when a guy has that many belts I would say he is proven He has walked through everyone he has faced since his break out year and should be seen as the favorite vs Stevenson but only time will tell I hope they make that fight
Ward was nearly ktfo by Boone, and somehow managed to hold on to win a very close decision I'm actually a Ward fan, but he's got to stop going after GGG, it's a little embarrassing. He's way taller, say bigger, and can't even make the weight he wants to fight GGG at. Him and Kovalev are around the same height and weight, it's the obvious fight to make to anyone that's not biased. Ward has fought at what? 172? What's three more pounds? Why go after a guy 12 pounds smaller than you? Seems kind of ridiculous tbh
