...can someone please explain the scores? They are as follows: judge: Chuck Giampa 109-113 judge: Art Lurie 108-114 judge: Dalby Shirley 108-114 I know Ruddock was down a few times. Were there other point deductions?
Tyson was consistently getting points taken off for low blows. Thee thing is I was certain watching the fight for the first time that Tyson was going to get DQed. Great great fight though.
Tyson was eager into punishing Ruddock in the second fight. This was no technical boxing contest....it was almost a crude street brawl where Tyson wanted to inflict as much pain as possible to even deliberately landing blows by both fighters that costed them points
Judges can't seem top score the most basic of fights, so I assure you that this is a lost cause. Anyway, it was an excellent fight and Ruddock certainly got his Jaw broken by an arm punch, if I recall correctly.
brutal fight. any idiot who thinks all you have to is stand up to tyson to beat him, should watch this fight.
One of my favorite Tyson fights, even though he was passed his best. This fight was a straight up brawl. Tyson ****ed him up, and also showed why he's got an iron chin.
The first fight was poorly officiated as well. I think because the first was such a poorly reffed fight, Mills Lane (a good but somewhat overrated official) kind of went off the deep end to make sure that he had a "good clean fight." That led to a somewhat dubious officiating which Don King decided to try and run with after the fight.
