Exactly my feeling too, Pre-Steward Wlad was an amazing machine. But its not only Steward, its Sanders, in fact Manny has saved Wlad career. Wald, before Sanders , was a very very very impressive and agressive fighter, even vs Sanders, before being destroyed, he was very agressive. He left something in the ring that night.

Yep. It is no mystery. The "C" level athletes that can't make it in pro football, basketball, or baseball are all that remains to take a shot at boxing. The rest of the world hasn't gotten much better, the great big men of the US are just participating in other sports from their youth (often receiving an education or other subsidy from these money-making college sports) and then moving on to the pro ranks. There is no subsidy for boxers and those that are decent but not able to make the pros (NBA/NFL/MLB) can't survive to train to become boxers and have to get normal jobs. This generation's "Lennox Lewis" + sized/skilled big men are either in the NFL/NBA or working in any of a number of productive and unproductive endeavors outside of sports. But, it is not all bad, it allows the rest of the world to gain some belief and their young kids to have some heroes (no matter how unimpressive these heroes are athletically in so many cases) to look up to after a rather long period of relative/comparative domination.

Franky, Wlad is about on par with Larry Holmes. Holmes didnt have an extremely difficult era until he was old (tyson and spinks) Wlad is one of those guys who, if he keeps winning and unifies and becomes lineal will be looked better on historically rather than currently.

10 years from now people will be talking about the white russian giant brothers as ATG's.

I here what your saying, I'm just not sure thats the case or not. Though I am afraid kids now adays are starting to get more involved in the MMA, which is becoming extremely popular in the states. I know one of the two boxing gyms I used to train in was closed down and replaced with a "Fight Club" which is basically MMA training. And I'm afraid to say it, but there are fewer boxing gyms around my area anymore, but when I was kid there was almost 3 times as many. You must remember, were talking during the mid to late 90's. Which is when we had popular fighters in their prime and on the come up, such as DLH, Holyfield, Tyson, RJJ, who were all household names at the time for various reasons, so kids looked up to them and try to emulate them in the gym.

The problem is we dont have many big star fighters anymore, the guys I named are either retired or should be. The only 2 fighters I could think that are household names are Mayweather and Pac, other than that who do we got? There is no Heavyweights that are household names and even the middle weight division has been going down lately with the losses of Pavlik to Bernard and Taylor to Pavlik, and Calzaghe retiring doesn't help much either.

Nice try you hater. What if Wlad was an American? Still a bum?

Could you handle white American Heavyweight?
    I have doubts.

Neither Sam Peter nor David Haye is American, yet anyone will tell you on here that I'm a big supporter/fan of both men. It's got nothing to do with the color of your skin or your nationality.

I been watching Wlad since the early 2000's when he was suppose to take Lewis' crown when he retired. Af first I didn't mind Wlad much, then he was exposed by "Corrie "Wlad Slayer" Sanders, then I realized Wlad had a glass chin and couldn't fight back when the going got tough. This would be a reoccurring theme for him during the next couple years until he learned how to clinch properly and pace himself. I respect Wlad's skills, which are amazing for a man his size, however his mental toughness is probably one the worst I seen for a top notch Heavyweight title holder. This is why I dont like Wlad, and he's clearly not making big enough waves in the states for the division to grow the way I would like.

You, my friend, are a classical hater.
And, yes, if he were black, you'd be all over him as the next coming.
    You suck.
So he got KO'd by Sanders, what about Lennox being KO'd by McCall and Rahman.? Did that expose Lennox?
    Again, you suck!!

Again, you cant beat me in a Klitschko dabate. Unlike some haters, I know my stats when it comes to Wlad and I dont need Boxrec to tell me what happend I have it already computed in my brain. I know who knocked down Wlad, how many times he has been down, by what kind of punch, and by who. You can say I have all the bases covered, and yes I'm a true hater and I'm proud of it. I will not rest until I see Wlad knocked out again, and I never miss a fight of his and havent since 2000.

I will out hate anyone on this boards when it comes to Wlad, and I almost always provide facts behind what I have to say, unless I'm just trying to be funny.

McCall did expose Lewis to a certain extent, so he changed trainers and eliminated the flaw from his game and went back and beat the **** out of McCall in a rematch.

Guess where I'm heading here.....although I'm sure if Lewis had a bigger, tougher brother I'm sure he'd have got him to do the job for him, obviously.

 I think there is enough hate to go around when it comes to the Klitschko's, I think were both belt holders in that division.

I must admit, you helped me to elevate my hate for Calzaghe even more. I remember the one night a few years back when you had the Calzaghe nuthuggers against the ropes with what you were saying. I forget the one posters name, but I remember him getting so mad at you he called you a "****ing Wanker" and said he was done with ESB. :good
