So you clearly wasn't here when Floyd beat Judah, because he got "criticised" as well... Stop worrying about what other people think...

It's a bit difficult to do so when we are on the General Forum and the place is swarming with it. You can stop worrying about what I think though, if it's upsetting you.

    Nicely said.

Some posters who do not want to give credit to Pac forgot that Clottey lost by SD to Cotto and had an injured hand in the 4th round against Margo. His other loss is a DQ against Baldomir and he won the rest of his fights. Everyone said before the fight that fighting Clottey is a high risk, low reward fight because he makes the fight ugly. Then here comes Pac shutting out Clottey and some posters suddenly thinks that Clottey is a bum. They forgot to mention that the opponent of Clottey must have done something to shut out Clottey.

You are the one complaining about opinions, not me, that's why I come here, to exhange opinions. So I do realize that goes on here :rofl

So the moral of the story is, if you don't want to hear negative "opinions" on Manny's performance, you probably would be best of not coming here. Because trying to influence people to think differently, probably wont work, just MY opinion...

That was obviously an impressive performance, though Clottey's lack of offensive truly disappointed me, though it didn't come as a surprise.

I still see Mayweather beating Pacquiao though, since even Clottey was able to hit Manny flush a few times with counter punches when he was committed to letting his hands go.

I find it quite odd that Pacquiao catching a few clean shots in 12 rounds of toe-to-toe action means anything other than he was dominant. The same opinion was expressed on here when Miguel Cotto landed about two jabs and one uppercut in 12 rounds against Pac. If it had been a war of attrition with both men taking punishment then I'd maybe see your point, but Pac only took a few clean punches the entire night, same as vs Cotto. Pac comes to fight, he moves into range a lot, and he punches almost non-stop. It's remarkable that he doesn't get hit more or ever dropped. It's simply not possible for an offensive fighter like Manny to get through 12 rounds with bigger men and not take a single clean shot. His offence and workrate compensate for that. Of course Floyd will land some clean pot-shots on Manny, but Manny will be using his maximum artillery as well.

I get your point, but on the other hand, Mayweather is a defensive genius and excellent counter-puncher. He will make Pac pay. 100 punches a round mean 100 counter-punching occasions a round. He won't just sit behind the guard and lose a lopsided decision like Clottey did. And if Manny only landed about 15% on his punches thrown against Clottey (I don't have the exact statistic), his ratio wouldn't be better against Money.

It's not a great performance. It was a masterful performance even though I gave Clottey 3 rounds. This fight will go down as a "tune-up" against a "noname" among the big fights vs. the Oscars, Cottos and Hattons, however some of us thanksfully realize that this was Pac's best win at 147 pounds, simple as that.

Mesmerizing would likely be the last adjective I would employ to describe this fight. :huh

Solid performance by Pac. However, the bout was lacklustre.

Really is that why Margo had so much trouble. Why Cotto almost got beat. Why Judah got dominated? They must be **** fighters then by your standard.

Margo won a very comfortable UD. Cotto had a gaping bleeding Vagina opened over his eye and Margarito had already broken him by the time Clottey got him.

But yes, we already KNEW that Pacquiao was better than Cotto or Margarito. What did the fight with Clottey prove, exactly, except something we already knew?

Hard to lose a round when the guy is not throwing punches back at you.

Clottey was another Top Rank hype job. He has never been relevant in his 15 years as a professional fighter. Nothing but a gate keeper.

    He totally dominated.

But I felt like he went in cruising mode and could have knocked Clottey out.
