To barely loss a round to Clottey at welter is a great performance by Pacquiao

A good win for Pac against a good WW, but Josh Clottey did not take any chances and although his style is so defensive and Pac's aggression is what kept him even more defensive than usual i can't say impressive victory. Clottey's corner was begging him to take a chance to let his hands go. Clottey didn't do anything. Mosley vs mayweather winner should be a great fight.

If you';re talking about th people pac has fought since moving up then actually yes. None had any movement, quick hands or counter-punching to their attack. Most were guys who are there to be hit guys he enjoyed an extreme handspeed advantage against and Pac could tee off on at will with little effort.

There's a parallel here to the underrating of Calzaghe's win over Hopkins.

Posters later claimed that if Hopkins just "let his hands go" against Joe like he subsequently did against Kelly, he woulld have beaten Joe easily.

Thing is, Joe was keeping him from doing that by doing things Kelly simply couldn't do.

Last night, I read numerous posts stating what a terrible fight this was, posted mostly by the boxing ignoranti. MMA is where they said they were now headed and that will be good riddance.

The fight was a masterful display by Pacquaio against a guy who was never clearly beaten, much less dominated.

Last night, he was shut out.

He spent the first couple of rounds trying to get the measure of the phenomenon in front of him, seeing what the little fella had.

And he discovered that Pac possessed more power than he wanted to taste.

His corner, his fans and the commentators all kept urging him to let his hands go.

What many failed to realize is that Pac played a huge role in preventing him from doing just that.

Clottey was able to hit Cotto. And Margarito.

And he landed a little on Pac during the first few rounds. He just paid too much for it.

Had he tried to open up more, I believe he would probably have been stopped.

Mayweather took a lot of flak from posters on here for his running performance against Baldomir. I disagreed at the time and argued that Floyd's performance was masterful in shutting the bigger, stronger guy down.

Well, there are parallels here between these fights.

Smaller, more skilled fighter winning a shutout in both cases.

But there was a significant difference in the manner in which they went about the task.

This fight shows (on the heels of the previous three) that Pac is definitely at the level of Mayweather.

He now matches him in speed (both hand and foot) and exceeds him in power. And most importantly, he has a lot more heart and balls.

    And PAc continues to improve.

From Floyd's stance, the longer he delays here, the weaker are his chances.

    At the moment, it's a 50/50 proposition.

With the advantage tilting ever steadily towards Pac.

No wonder Floyd's not anxious to face him in the ring.
He needs to milk his zero for its maximum $ before possibly cashing out.

Or, Pacquiao should just agree to be adequately drug tested.

Pac has already agreed to be adequately drug tested.

That has never been an issue.

After being staggered, Clottey just covered up for dear life.

Dan Rafael had it 12 -0 for Pac.

Void will never fight Pac, but I think Mosley would. Void is void. Void fans hate Pac because Pac made Void run an hide, make up lies. Void, Sr. said that he did not want Void, Jr. to fight Pac, right after Pac stopped Cotto, after that they went on a negative campaign to discredit Pac, claiming that Pac was a druggie, with zero proof of such.
