To be fair, is Wilder really as bad as people make him out to be?

Totally agree with the comment about his feet, I've seen people on crutches with better footwork . And despite all his knock outs he's not an accomplished finisher. His ko's are generally one shot stoppages, when faced with a hurt Fury getting off the canvas he just windmills punches wildly setting up nothing. His power is perhaps the greatest eraser I've ever seen, it erases the flaws he has, if Wilder had just decent power he'd have been out of this sport years ago and been a journeyman.

It would be like Holmes vs Cooney but much worse.

Not as good as the nuthuggers and Fury fans claim. I'm I the only one that has notice how some Fury fans are acting like Wilder is some ATG?

He is bad like not good, far from being great. Has the power - yes, but that's it along with conditioning. He has no technique, bad defense, bad footwork, unimpressive IQ. He fought mainly top deep bottom guys, few average and one great who raped him three times.

Its not good timing when you swing wildly half the fight before you finally land.

    Quality Heavyweight Champion.

Wilder has engaged in 13 WBC title fights. All of his opponents were rated by the WBC. Six of the 13 fights also came against Ring rated fighters ... ALL of those Ring-rated opponents were in the top five at the time. One being the Ring champ.

Among his opponents in those 13 fights, 12 had two losses or FEWER on their resume.

His late-sub Arreola had the worst win-loss record at 36-4-1. (You think that's bad, go back in heavyweight history and see how many champions fought challengers with much worse records.)

Wilder's 10 consecutive successful heavyweight title defenses is the fifth most ALL-TIME in boxing history.

You know how many fighters in BOXING HISTORY have engaged in MORE THAN 13 heavyweight title fights for ANY belt?

Joe Louis. Muhammad Ali. Larry Holmes. The Klitschko brothers. Lennox Lewis. Evander Holyfield. Mike Tyson. Tommy Burns.

    And I believe that's it.

His next opponent, Robert Helenius (31-3) is rated #9 by the WBC and #2 by the WBA.

Yes. He's a bad boxer. He only hunts people with his right hand, very low output and unimpressive boxing iq.

Yeah. I made a list a while back displaying how and why he is that bad.

One of the worst reigns ever.

He lost to the only elite fighter he faced.

His best wins are a 52 year old Ortiz, a French pastry chef named Duhapas and a football player named George Washington

If he's lost a step after Fury the Nordic Nightmare could cause an upset. Wilder won't even get the Ruiz fight. I'm expecting Helenius to be in career shape, even better than he was as a young prospect knocking over names over a decade ago.

He's the 4th best boxer post Klitschko.

    Fury, Usyk, AJ, Wilder.

He's clearly not an ATG, but his power will threaten any fighter in history, and he's going to be one of the best victories for any fighter in history.

Wilder has power and heart in abundance, yes he has flaws but only Fury has managed to beat him so far and how many times did he have to climb off the floor in the trilogy to beat him. Wilder is still a nightmare fight for any current Heavyweight. Wilder is dangerous for every second of every round .

Probably worse. I cannot remember a top rated HW who fought worse "opposition" for longer than this guy.

Even his TWO wins against supposedly decent fighters - Stiverne and Ortiz - have been exposed as overrated.

And all this nonsense about what a supposedly "devastating" puncher this guy is. CHris Byrd would look like a "puncher" against this assortment of utter stiffs and weak chinned mediocrities Wilder's record is padded with.
