    He is a solid boxer and has some ring iq..honestly he reminds me of Margarito

    he doesn't fight well when he is backing up so pressure him with effective combos . I'd like to see him fight Fonfara

    Margarito wish he was as good as Kovalev.

    Margarito was slow with his hands and his feet. He was the definition of a plodder. Kovalev has decent handspeed and moves around the ring well.

    To beat Kovalev, you have to attack him and have the power to deter him. That's why a lot of people believe Beterbiev could be his equalizer.

    There are probably a few ways to beat him you just have to be really, really good. I could picture a prime Roy Jones Jr beating him with speed and movement. I could picture a LHW Golovkin beating him at his own game and knocking him out. The obvious things would help - Power, speed, boxing skills, good defence and good chin.

    Kovalev is better then Margarito true..but bot dont fight well going backwards and love to build momentum coming forward and both do not have great defense although Kovalev's is better.But as with Margarito,to beat them you have to attack them and push them back

    Kovalev is the real deal. It would take skills to beat him. Someone who can hit, tie up, and move the entire fight. I think Andre Ward would beat him using that strategy. Stevenson has a chance because he is a decent boxer and can gain Kovalev's respect with his power.
