billy,i was saying to my mates and there sons last night what a good boxer burns is,but "he is out of his depth tonight i think". i thought i was going to be proved right in the 1st round, but after round 3 and 4,i turned to the boys with me and said "err,****,glad we dident bet on this, burns looks ****ing awsome,he is beating him to every punch,if he could hit harder he would stop him". billy ,top job mate, pls give my best to ricky, and tell him he made a proud englishman like myself, proud to be british last night, great great performance:thumbsup
Fair play Billy, you got it tight last week for saying Ricky would win but you delivered the goods. Last night was up there with any great/dramtaic matches involving the club i support over the last 25 yars of supporting them.
First of congratulations to you, Ricky and the whole camp. Last nights fight was truly inspirational, the scenes throughout last night showed us why we love this sport and just cements my opinion that there is no sport like boxing. I dont know any sport that commands that much heart, grit and determination like what Ricky showed last night. At times the hairs on the back of my neck stood up as I was shocked in awe at what I was seeing. The way Ricky battled putting it all out there, the crowd cheering and then inbetween rounds, especially the later rounds, you trying to inspire Ricky keeping him focused was brilliant. As I say inspirational!
That was just fantastic. First time I've been to a fight at the Kelvin Hall and the atmosphere was amazing. Ricky looked better than ever - the body-shots and uppercuts were terrific. Great effort from both guys - I'm going to remember last night for a long, long time. Well done Ricky and Billy.
I've watched Billy up close a few times and he does a great job calming fighters and giving useful advice at the right time. He is now a trainer of a world champion. Every credit to him, a good bloke and a fine trainer. Always insightful.
well done billy, i've been very critical of you in the past and even acted like a **** a few times, but you showed what you have to offer, hats off to you.
Well done , absolutely fantastic fight , A scot world champion amazing . Hope the whole team enjoy the win .
Billy must feel like he can walk on water at this moment in time, such was the magnitude of that win. **** me, just a few weeks ago I said a prime Scott Harrison(my hero just incase anyone hadnt noticed) was better than Burns could ever hope to be with all due respect to the Rickster, but after his win over Martinez even I am staring down at a large slice of aforementioned pie. Pass me a fork please.
As a coatbrig boy thru and thru i would like to say well done to ricky and billy and the rest of his team for makin the toon very proud this weekend, last nite was fantastic i will never forget the feelin of that atmosphere for the rest of my life. Everyone deserves every bit a credit that comes their way. I dnt no ricky personally i was ony introduced to him at the weigh in thru a mutual friend but feel as if a do if that sounds right?? A see him runnin thru sikeside from time to time, lots of people run thru sikeside but noone ever is chasin ricky! Was at skool in kirkwood with a few right good boxers to come out the barn but rickys pulled it off, stuck at it, determination and drive, an example to every youngster in this place. I dnt no what is happenin wif old rab bannon these days a trust hes still pluggin away and hope he is still involved in some way with ricky, a hope he was there last night and is as proud as anyone Well done ricky boy u deserve it all ma man S
