I did not swerve it at all. These are very respectable numbers in the modern era for PPV buys with all the illegal hacking and higher prices though not certain your figures are correct. Currently Canelo is not doing 1 Million PPV buys.

He's on his way to that kind of recognition if he faces the Haney/Loma winner, Shakur and maybe one of the top guys at 140 like Taylor, Matias, Prograis or Catterall.

Of course he isnt. Canelo, Fury and AJ are much more well known.

But he's not approaching near their popularity. They're trying extremely hard to convince us he is but the numbers just don't support their claims.

And even if he was the face of boxing who wants someone who refuses to fight the best being the face of the sport?

Floyd is/was a genuine superstar and look at his resume and who he fought compared to Twink. It's night and day.

He fought Genaro two years after turning pro. That win is better than any on Twink's resume even though he's been a pro over ten years

The face of boxing simply refers to how much you can sell and how well you are known. He is nowhere near canelo's pay-per-view numbers. He's also not globally known unlike Anthony Joshua and tyson fury. However he will command very good purses. However that is not the face of boxing.

He is one of many Fury, Shakur, Bivol and loma. Add him in and get in line. He still lacks more qty wins but eventually he will be THE face of boxing. If the marketing team and Tank wins 5 star fights.

Even some of my friends who don’t follow boxing on the regular were asking my thoughts on the Tank fight last week.

You got to think about it like this way he’s active.
Crawford and Spence out of sight out of mind so people know Tank based on activity.

Tank has power, has won most of his fights by knockout. He's been marketed very well to a niche urban community. He's been protected against threats. But he does not have crossover appeal into the mainstream. The only way he crosses over is to become heel. People will pay to see him lose. People will start buying his fights. If he beats Loma people will start paying to see him lose.

Tank has beaten many world champions and undefeated fighters the last one on Saturday one of the so called 4 Queens. You may get him to beat up on the Haney vs Loma winner if Bob Arum does not get in the way. However there are some her who will never give Tank his due irrespective of his achievements.

I don't see how a guy that's tatted up to the eyebrows like him, can ever appeal to a mainstream audience. Watching interviews with him is like watching a mugshot talking. If at the same time he was a word wizard, then yeah...maybe...but he's not, now is he?

He doesn't have to appeal to a mainstream audience, quite the contrary. He needs to not appeal to a mainstream audience. Nobody paid to Mayweather fight, they paid to see him lose.

As I keep explaining to you, Olu, his resume is smoke and mirrors Central.

    Again

Pedraza is his best win and he's literally the only prime real world champion he's fought in his entire career who was a champion at the weight he fought them at. All the other world champions he's fought were either shot (Gamboa, Cristobal Cruz), dragged up in weight/world champions at lower weights (LSC, Cuellar, Hugo Ruiz, Hector Garcia) or WBA regular champs (Barrios) and there's overlap there too.

This is designed to dupe the casuals into believing he's been doing something he's categorically not ie. fighting the best and winning real world titles at multiple weights. When you compare that to what Loma and other real legacy fighters have been doing and are doing it's night and day.

You can't serve people up urine and expect them to gush over you in return for serving them up wine. If you want the credit for fighting the best, taking big risks, and being a legitimate three-weight world champion and a legacy fighter you actually have to face prime versions of the best, take big risks, and not duck the actual legitimate world champions at those weights. He's an excellent fighter but he has not been doing these things.
