when you think about it, on paper the Pac vs Margo fight is garbage. We can only hope that Margo will train like an animal and make it a great war.

Sure fighting at 151 is an advantage for Margarito over Pacquiao.

But how is him fighting at 151 a bigger advantage than him coming in at the LMW limit of 154 :huh

    this plain and simple...

catchweight fights SHOULD NOT be sanctioned by any organization as a Titlebelt fight imo, but they do unfortunately...

Are there any Super Featherweights in history that Dominated Middle Weights?
Generally a Natural Welterweight will Dominate Middleweights if he is Great
Middle Weights will Dominate Light Heavies but not Heavies if he is great.

THE BIGGER THE MEN ARE THE HARDER IT IS TO MOVE UP VERY FAR

for instance 135 can gain 5 pounds and win a new belt in a new weight class
The bigger the guy gets the harder it is.

In my opinion Pac assuming hes clean simply was draining himself to make weight to stay safe stay away from the bigger guys, Does anyone have any other reasoning for marquez surviving? He was allowed to grow out and his body developed but at those weights he needs to seriously chooses his oponets wisely, you wouldnt want Martinez or Mosley coming at 151 against him. The bigger you get and or are the harder it is to move up, know your body limitations and get in the sweet spot sort of speak. Mayweather cannot compete at 154. he can beat some people but not like at 147 were he belongs. Pac can be beat by some people at 147 but nobody can beat him at 140
there not stupid they will pick there battles

but nobody in the history of the sport went from super featherweight and dominated the middle weight division

Pac deosn't loose anything by comming up in weight. The only disadvantage that a fighter has in coming up in weight is fighting possible bigger stronger opponents.

While DLH is naturally bigger then Pac he was also a zomby on fight night.

Hatton was not a big guy by any stretch and didn't have the fighting style to beat someone as fast a Pac.

Cotto and Manny are almost identical in size by basically every measurement. Cotto has bigger thighs, Pac has bigger calfs. Only thing Cotto had on Pac was his ability to come in heavy on fight night which he didn't do.

Clottey had a clear size advantage, but has no real pop, or great hand speed, or movement. Just strong defense and decent counter ability. But he doesn't use his legs to create distance and use his size and reach. Physically his is bigger then Manny, but fights small.

Margo has a clear size advantage over Pac, but is a tomato can of a fighter who cheated in order to create his buzz. He doesn't have the footwork or defense to keep Pac off him and doesn't have the concrete in his hands any more to break Pac down with his body and arm shots.

What Pac has done not anyone can do so don't get me wrong. But these are carefully picked Giants. Roach new DLH couldn't get off anymore. They also new that Cotto, Clottey, Margo are matchups in Pac's favor. Not that im knocking them for it, its what it is.

LMW title 148-154 not 148 - 150 or 151. that the WBC is sanctioning this fight is a disgrace. I can understand pac being a WW champ and challenging a "real" top contender or a champion at LMW would be acceptable, but this arranged championship fight with someone who shouldn't be ranked on any top 15 contender list. Insulting and pathetic.

The best part of defending the catch weights is when the say, it won't effect Cotto/Margo

If it won't effect him why are you doing it?

"So they don't come in to high"

    Lmao

I've never said it wouldn't affect Cotto/Margo, but rather that it was a fair compromise. Also, the catchweights penalties are monetary. If Cotto/Margo wanna fight for the title at the full limit, ante up the penalty and do it.

Its only normal that if Margo or Cotto are gonna have even more of a size advantage on Pac, they should accept a smaller part of the purse. Even if they're fighting for a title, its not a free pass to give the bigger fighter all the advantages and nothing back in return.
