    To be fair, being good at Muay Thai offers a bit of a guide as to how good you could potentially be at boxing.

    Other than the obvious knees, elbows and holding, the only other real difference is that the stance is much squarer.

    There's a few Thai boxing gyms in the area and I know a lad who helps run one of them. He says quite a few of them could make decent boxers but the politics in the amateur game spoils it. The decisions are often bull**** and you don't get paid.

    An average, area level Thai boxer can earn a couple of hundred quid in cash for a fight if he sells a few tickets, which is likely given the show will be local. Why bother moving across though if you either won't get paid or would only be a journeyman in the pros?
