To Joe Gallagher

You speak about trainers like they're some kind of super-beings. They are involved in boxing and obviously have an interest in it, this is a boxing forum so it's logical that there will be trainers on here.

They're not doing the world a massive favour by posting on a boxing forum - although I do like to hear their perspective or inside knowledge on things.

Gallagher has been pretty open about wanting to promote his fighters, his gym and boxing in general. If promoters aren't going to do their job then someone has to eh?

Gallagher has a column in the Manchester Evening News (a widely read paper) and a spot on the main event radio show. He doesn't just talk about his own fighters, he bigs up fighters from other gyms and helps bring boxing back into the mainstream.

The problem is Gallagher promotes himself more than the fighters, they are "gallaghers fighters" , Its "Gallaghers gym" its "Gallaghers article" in the Manchester evening news its all about Joe Gallagher, He has his fighters fight cab drivers and bums with no pulse and then talks about making his gym into the wildcard of Manchester :rofl

Gallagher is a decent Manchester boxing trainer, All this hype about him being the best trainer in the UK needs to stop, I rate Enzo, Billy Nelson, Tibbs, Breen, Harrison, higher than Gallagher.

Gallagher should only talk in the media when his fighters beat someone of note, Until then he needs to stfu and hold the mits for his fighters.

 

In my opinion a trainer going in the evening news for a weekly column is great for the sport, and if hes getting a few quid out of it, good luck to him.Sadly most of you guys forget boxing is a business, bit harsh making out a guy is an ego maniac simply for airing his views in a aper an getting a few quid out of it.His boxers also benfit coz of publicity.
yes joe as a trainer has a good winning streak and maybe it is effecting some of the matchmaking, but remember going undefeated means bigger paydays for the fighter to......see what i mean about business.
I really dislike some of the personal attacks on boxers, trainers, promoters.specailly when i guarentee 95% of the attacks come form internet warriors who have never even met the guy they slating, ****s sake.Man the **** up,

 

that is their job - to know what it is they're talking about.

I've watched Billy in the gym, he knows what he is talking about and then some.

Billy Nelson claiming that Joe is protecting his fighter? Thats the same Billy Nelson who trains Burns whose 2 defensives of the world title have been nothing short of blokes from the local bar in terms of talent. People in glass houses Billy
