My all time favourite boxer, Randy Turpin used weights and the system he used was designed by a fella named mick gavin and specially suited for a middle weight
When he weighed in with Sugar Ray Robinson for the world title, Robinson was amazed at turpins physique, thinking he should have weighed 190lbs.
Turpin handled Ribimson like a baby in the clinches and won the title.
I had 37 fights as an amateur, diidnt use weights but im a nobody

I heard all those stories when I was a young amateur boxer in the 70s.
His promoter and you know you I mean, doesn't come out smelling of roses.
The licker was a naive young man and said promoter (amongst others) took the ****.
Randys youngest daughter told me her dad and the sugar man kept in touch right up till the end.
I don't think robinsons farewell do when his former middleweight title opponents got in the ring did the lickers state of mind any food.
At his peak RAT was one of the most assiduous of trainers

You can get some good strength gains with medicine ball and plyometric training as well. 3-5 rep range.

pure boxers dont lift big weights. pull ups/chin ups are better.
