just looking around and i saw harry wills and when you look at his record it is pretty crazy he started out fighting 10rd fights and i copied this one it is set to be a 20 rd fight but he lost and the way they looked at black men back them was pretty shitty...anyways when you look at a record like hims and many other fighter back then i have to think about the fighters today...THEY WOULD NEVER MAKE IT!!! TALK ABOUT HEART! and another thing he had a fight where he got dq'ed in rd1 for pushing and both fighters agreed to fight 4 days later at no cost to the fans! THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN TODAY!
take a look at the write ups on these fights

Langford regains world 'colored' heavyweight title claim
"With a left swing to the jaw, Sam Langford of Boston knocked out Harry Wills, the giant New Orleans negro, in the fourteenth round of a scheduled twenty-round fight this afternoon at Vernon. Both men were knocked down repeatedly, Langford himself taking the count four times in the first two rounds. Langford early in the fight hurt his left ankle as he fell to the mat in a vicious breakaway. Wills' effective straight-arm drives gave him an apparent even break in most of the rounds, but Langford fought with a superior knowledge of the game that gradually wore out Wills. As the soreness left Langford's injured ankle, his footwork improved and the twelfth, thirteenth and fourteenth rounds showed Langford winning. His speed, judgment and force then enabled him to play with Wills. The final swing was delivered after a torrent of blows had left Wills staggering."

times have really changed a lot...

although i think fighters of today can also adapt to before, its because no one will have the same b"oxing is business" mentality of today back then

money really is the root of all evil and i think that people are just lazy these days i know alot of fighters and im not saying lazy like doin nothing lazy im just saying they dont put everything into what they are doing these guys should have no problem fighting 10-12 times a year but they dont and when they get to the top it is even worst your lucky if you see these guys once every year year and a half.....and thats not when the are retiring inbetween fights these guys that are tryin to ake it to the top should be puttin in work not sitting around cause nobody want to fight or the money is not right....the best should fight the best and the newbies should be fighting like crazy to earn a spot in there with a champ

Most fighters nowadays would make it back then, and vice versa. They just react and adjust to the situation in front of them.

Fighters with injury-prone hands but high KO percentages like Mayweather and Calzaghe would have considerably lower percentages, because they'd be fighting so often, and worried about injuring their hands that they'd probably be inclined to slap more.

    A la Maxie Slapsie.

Today's fighters would absolutely dominate in the golden era. The old timey fighters, if they tried to fight today, would get viciously, brutally and quickly KTFO. All the heart in the world, no technique whatsoever.

Todays fighters would not be able to go 15 rounds in a fight. Most of them get winded by the time they his round 10. And the heavyweights, forget about it. Only a handful of fighters from today would have made it.
