I am not going to get into a religious debate because there is all types of ways to interpret the Quran or the bible or any other book, but there are plenty of references to war. Most of the war references come later in the Quran as Muhammed preached peace early on and war as he gained millitary power. What do you say about the second part of my post about how Ali only had strong religious convictions when they helped him not get his head blown off but not when it came to ****ing women or taking a few days out of his life to make a pilgrimage mandated by his religion
I will say this Ali, never was shy when it came to the ladies, he was upfront about it...hell Queen Latifa is one os his extracurricular afairs fruits.... It is hard to judge a man, when it comes to women, you can be strong innercovictions on life and very weak when it comes to recist women seductions...
How about the pilgrimage, or practicing Ramadan. Be honest with yourself here. Ali only had strong religious convictions when it involved not risking his life in a war.
wrong. has nothing to do with "generations". 30 years ago, there was a demographic who cared about money only, same as now. there are plenty of young people who care about quality of character above superficial bull****. NEVER underestimate or misjudge the young people around you. that's the biggest disservice you can do to your future.
Point taken, let me rephraase...a substantial number of young people today will put money over character....
I don't think there's much difference between todays athletes and the past athletes really. I think like everything else the media exposes us to more now. Mayweather is a champ in the media age. any and everything he says. even if he didn't mean it is broadcast all over the world, and can be seen on youtube 24/7 It's the culture we live in. They wont tell you the good things Mayweather has done, or anything he stands for because that's not exciting enough. I will say money is the most important thing now, and rightfully so in my opinion. I am happy to see the era of the fighters fighting their hearts out in the ring only to retire penniless, with no one remembering what they did in theor career. leaving filthy rich managers and promoters to find the next one to exploit. It's a business first at that level.
I do know what you mean. I think part of your observation can be blamed on modern marketing. There is an oversaturation of messaging emphasizing conspicuous consumption out there. I think part of the shame is that it targets a segment of people who are have never learned to be particularly discerning about what they have or what they strive to be. So, these days there's a very ugly picture being painted out there and some people do buy into it. I think the best example of this is the post-fight interviews given by Hatton and Mayweather. Hatton's was anything *BUT* about ego, money, and superficialilties. Mayweather's was *ONLY* about ego, money, and superficialities. And that is why Mayweather can never hold himself to the truest definition of a "true champion", because a true champion is perceived as something closer to a person and not an image. An amazing, true irony. What's interesting from a psychological standpoint is Mayweather's constant, dogged, determined, vocal self-referencing as a "true champion". Unfortunately, sheer repetition doesn't change perception. It's pretentious and weak, I think.
It is sad to listen to PBF with all his attributes, fame and money...when his insecurities are surfaces totally overpower his persona and his character flaws are magnified.... They all want to be Ali, but they all fall short because Ali had the essence and substance, they all lack both.....
Well EZE I am here and know...whre the **** are you chump....masturbating after the fight on PBF win?
You know EZE, if I would have denied at any time that I didn;t choose Baldomir or Hatton, then you can make your comments but youa re saying this **** like a broken record ...like if I have denied it...I ahve not and as I mentioned to you several times already, if Baldo fight PBF again, I would choose Balod, get it..I can not favor a fighter who's character as a human being is in question, butI can see why you wouldn;t understand this since you have no principles nor inner convictions... Is chumps like you that have pulll down the Boxing IQ level on ESB that other sites laugh at......ESB the home of the huggers....without any historic roots or understanding. If you would be a great debater on your rather than gathered together with the rest of the huggers it is disgraceful to boxing...
Yet here you are........:rofl :hi: ..and you will be agains and again....funny for someone that is not giving a dammm...hypocritical fool:hi:
Orishaman, I know where you are comming from, Mayweather is a easy to hate, I personal don't like the guy but love the way he fights and his skill, 24/7 he comes of as the biggest idiot in sport and people are blown away by his attitude, esp non boxing people who can't believe the way he behaves.
