.. Haye certainly has the power to stop Wlad, but do realise that Thompson took a LOT of right hands while pressing forward. He has never been down before and has a very strong chin. Haye punches a lot harder than Thompson and is faster, better technically, but he would've been out before the 5th if he took the punches that Thompson did. I'd still like to see the fight however.
People are forgetting that Haye at CW did have a slightly suspect chin. He wouldn't take a right hand flush from Wlad but then again I'm not sure Wlad can take one from Haye either. Would love to see this fight - I don't think it would go past 3 rounds.
I agree, I have expressed my dislike for both in the past, I feel both have a ton of power and very weak chins, which should make for an exciting fight.
Yeah, that is how I see it as well. Especially with Haye being such an offensive fighter, someone is going to lie unconscious on the canvas within a couple of rounds.
I think the Haye backers would say that he's not going to come forward in a straight line and not move his head like Thompson did...therefore not having to absorb those rights in hopes of landing his own. It would be a shoot-out, I reckon. Let the hype get rolling!
I also think Haye gets stretched. You can't fight Klitschko without eating some right hands. That pretty much comes with the territory. I'd be very surprised if Haye takes the right hands Thompson took.
until haye has proved himself at heavyweight , everything is guesswork haye says he is weighing 233 today .
The thing is Thompson spent most of the fight holding BOTH hands up and completely covering up. Most of the punches that Wlad landed were either blocked or partially blocked. This would not be the case against Haye who keeps both hands low.
Wladimir was stopped by Ross Purity. Both David Haye and Wladimir Klitschko has suspect chins, but I wouldn't expect anybody to deny that if David was to land flush on Wlad's chin, that would be trouble for the Heavyweight champion of the world.
There's no point of talking about the matchup until we see if Haye's chin improves at HW or not. But there's a point of talking about Povetkin beating Klitschko. I just hope the referee doesn't **** it up, because it might turn into a disgraceful clinching gameplan for Wlad.
I don't always pick against Waldo. I only pick guys I think will actually beat him. Like Povetkin and Peter. :yep
