With the exception of the Friday Night series what cards do they show? Do they show hbo/showtime events ppv or not?

It's launched here in the UK and we are getting the Friday Night series but just wondering what other boxing they show.

    Cheers

They may show classic fights. Otherwise, you're just getting the Friday Night series and maybe a handful of non-Friday cards, but the Friday ones will be the highest quality. They will not show HBO or Showtime cards and rarely (maybe once in the past 5 years?) will they have their own PPV.

They show the same classic fights(Bowe-Holyfield, Ali-Foreman, Ali-Frazier III, etc) a million times.

ESPN Classic has boxing every night starting at 1 am(?). Its usually fights from the 50s or earlier. At 2 am they have Showtime boxing which usually involves 2000-today. Thursdays they show Showtime boxing at 8 pm.

If true then you're getting different programming than we get!

ESPN has a deal with showtime to show fights, and we usually see fights that aired on Showtime on ESPN classic a short time later (week to a month). You won't see HBO fights on there if it's the same espn as here.

It should be kept in mine that espn in america is a series of channels. We have ESPN 1 and 2, ESPN Classic, ESPN De Portes, and ESPN U, which plays just college games.

I saw the press release briefly, so I can't recall, but I think ESPN UK will be it's own channel. As in, you won't be just getting a feed from ESPN or ESPN II, but it will be showing selected programming from here, such as Boxing, classic boxing, MMA, etc. So it's really hard for an American to guess what you guys will be seeing. Also, if I recall, ESPN just got the champions league contract, so I imagine you'll get a lot of that, but I am not a huge soccer fan so don't know what that entails exactly.
