Look dudes, I for one as many of Pavlik's knowledgeable fans never said **** about Joe. It was Joe who before Pavlik even made it back home was calling him out. Pavlik never called out Joe. It was Joe's fans who before Pavlik made to his dressing room had already made 50 threads about "Oh yeah, well Calzaghe would kick his ass". <--- No ****. As Pavlik would no doubt in my mind punish badly anyone from the 154.

I picked ol Joe from the get, but Kessler had his moments with his right hand and made Joe dig down and find that depth of his heart and skill and overcome a Bullish Contender.

Think Kessler at 168 has a better right hand than Kelly Pavlik??

Your second one who has now said that Pavlik is a smaller version of Kessler. Who are you looking at?

Kessler hgt: 6'1'', Reach: 73, wgt: 180 at fight time

Pavlik hgt: 6'2 1/2'', Reach: 75, wgt 168.5 at fight time for Taylor

Kessler has more muscle mass/ definition in his upper body, but physically Pavlik is a bigger man. Guarantee when fights at 168, he enter the ring at 180+lbs.

I see Joe-C winning by TKO--after Joe-C breaks his hand, and Joe's Welsh uncle (the ref) stops the fight in mid-pitty-patter flurry to KP's gloves.

 

I think it would be a pick-em fight. Despite what you want to believe about Pavlik, he is a tough matchup for anyone. At nearly 6'3 with long arms, his size gives anyone trouble. Taylor is 6'1 and you can tell he had problems with Pavliks length.

Another thing that makes me believe pavlik would have a good shot at Calzaghe is that Pavlik can equal Calzaghes work rate, and with more power. Calzaghe definitely has the speed advantage but can he deal with Pavliks size and constant pressure for the whole fight without getting caught? Maybe, maybe not. Pick-em fight.

 

Calzaghe needs a big win in the states to really impress me. Pavlik vs. Calzaghe in AC would be a great fight. Pavlik would press the action more than Kessler and I think his reach would be a problem for Calzaghe. But Joe being a lefty with a great chin, who knows?

 

A hype job doesn't nearly get KO'd to then come back and KO his opponent. Kessler seems very average, doesn't have the same kind of power as Pavlik and doesn't throw nearly the same amount of punches. I don't see how Kessler can be considered one of the best when he has never fought any of the top US fighters..

 

I'd really like to know how wearing down Taylor and Miranda and stopping them 7th after an accumulation of his best blows makes him a harder hitter than Mikkel Kessler at SMW?

Mikkel likely hits harder shot for shot, especially due to his speed and accuracy and Joe took some vicious blows from him.

 

Many fighters had a good chin before they fought Pavlik. Pavlik can drop anyone at 160 or 168 like a 10 year old girl.

 

Yes and Kessler also has a pretty good defence, a much better chin, much better stamina, much better speed, much better footwork, equal power, much better accuracy, much more punishing and consistent jab, the precision is not equal.

Kessler is a solid A level, Pavlik is a B+. JC's an A+, thus the difference.

 

I really want to see the best Joe has before he retires and I think Pavlik would bring it out. Last nite was a sham neither fighter looked their best or close to it
