Feels more like a Pavlik hate thread than anything else. All of Pavlik's fights have been barnburners from Zuniga, McKart, Zertuche, Miranda, Taylor. I think that string of fights makes Pavlik a credible opponent. Will he win? I doubt it, my money is JC. Will he get completely blown out of the water? Hell no. It'd be a great fight between the MW king and SMW king.

First and foremost I had a calzaghe prediciton win before the fight, that being said. I see Pavlik a much better fighter than Mikkel and heres why:

uppercut for uppercut - Kelly throws his with BOTH hands and does not telegraph it as much as Mikkel

punchoutput for punchoutput - Kelly throws more than Mikkel. I believe this has much more to do with Kelly not being afraid of getting hit as opposed to Mikkel. Mikkel just seems like he always is waiting for the 'perfect' time. Joe C does not do this and that is why Joe won.

straigh right for stragiht right - Kelly throws the much harder shot.

left hook for left hook - Mikkel has got this one. Kelly has a nice short switf hook, Mikkel has the longer more devistating shot. Mikkel will take someone out with one shot of this, Kelly's is more of a sneaky one.

jab for jab - Mikkel has got this hands down. I wish he would have doubled up on it more against Joe.

Stamina - Kelly has got this for sure. I think Mikkel waiting for that 'perfect' shot all the time is due to his stamina. Kelly is non stop the full 12.

Now onto Joe C v Pavlik - Joe wins this due to his chin. He can take on hell of a shot and still come back. I still dunno about Kelly's. Even though Kelly can get knocked down and come back (see Zuniga and Taylor), it seems to happen more often than not. Joe is one relentless **** in there. Expect a lot closer fight than against Mikkel, and expect Joe to go down, come back up, and kncok out Pavlik for the win.

uhh, McKart was not a barn burner. more like a younger Pavlik destroying a old, worn down McKart. and please dont bring that knockdown up, that **** was NOT a knockdown in any way shape or form.

Whatever else you say about KP, you gotta admit he's been in some GREAT, exciting fights, in his young career! Can the same be said of JC?

JC had some very good fighters around in/around his prime, near his weight-class (160-175) that he never fought. Maybe it wasn't entirely his fault, but there were some names he could've had on his resume that would've made him something special.

I like Pavlik, and would take JC over him, right now. I wouldn't say KP has "zero chance", being that this is boxing. Many thought he'd wilt under Miranda's power, and a lot thought JT would school him--we saw what happened in those two fights, didn't we? Pavlik still has things to accomplish at 160, and we can't say, for sure, how a move to 168 would affect him; he is a BIG dude, and might benefit immensely from an extra 8 pounds. This will probably end up being a case of two great fighter JUST missing each other, in the ring. Too bad they're not 5 years apart, rather than 10.

I hope it happens so that Pavlik could continue to prove people wrong.

The hating seems to go both ways. I'd pick JC over Pavlik in an instant but that dosen't mean he's not a damn good fighter. I'd love to see it personally.
Also Kessler is a better fighter than anyone Pavliks beaten so I dont agree that he's achieved more than Joe this year. But as you say Pavliks going to be here for a long time.

Jose your just a JC hater. He's the number1 fighter from 160-175 and your still crying about it.

Calzaghe vs Pavlik would be so one-sided its untrue, Joe has so many advantages in that fight. Its not even worth talking about unless Pavlik proves himself at 168 first.

Top US fighters like who moron? Seriously, who the **** could he have fought, the supermiddles are not an American dominated division. Would you have liked him to face Lacy to consider him one of the best? He is the only top 10 American in the division. He beat Mundine, arguably top 3, and Beyer (admittedly shot and useless) but at 28 thats good, particularly when you arae WBC/WBA unified champ
