Actually, if Taylor gets his head together and boxes, I think Pavlik will have real problems in the next fight. Say what you will about Taylor being a boring fighter, but he was in control for much of the first fight until eventually overpowered. Pavlik can throw down, but can't box or defend worth a **** (save by moving continuously forward and punching which is often enough). I think that JC would just chew him up after a time and, unlike Lacy who has a better beard, wouldn't see the final bell.

I think Pavlik has more power than Kessler. Pav's still developing. Zag would outpoint him right now, but who knows? I'd like to see Zag take that right that floored Jermain.

I dont see Joe C getting hit with straight right hand too much, he seems very aware of this punch and has excellent defense for it.

Jose -- You're one of the few people in this forum who gets pavlik right. Most of the people who say Pav has no chance against JC also said he had no chance against Miranda, and then said he had no chance against Taylor! And then when he beat both those guys either became Pavlik nuthuggers or said it was a fluke.

JC is a good fighter, but Pavlik / Calzaghe would be a typical Pavlik fight: Back and forth the first few rounds, then Pav finds a home for the right hand, and closes the show within 8 rounds. I had no opinion of either Calzaghe or Kessler prior to last night. That fight was like something from ESPN or Verses. It certainly did not live up to the hype, or the melodramatic commentary during the fight. It showed me pretty clearly the Kelly has absolutely nothing to fear at 168. If Pavlik is having trouble with the weight at 160, or if Strum and Abraham won't fight him, there is nothing at 168 to keep him from dominating the division. Joe's slapping, shoe shining, and playing patty-cake would not effect Kelly anything like it did Kessler. Kessler was very tenative and, for the most part, only throwing when he had perfect counter punching opportunies. Kelly would be throwing as many punches as Joe, but every punch he throws as something on it. Pavlik by TKO in 8, MAYBE, and that's a big maybe, 10 rounds.

Pavlik has the higher KO ratio and more lights out snapping power.

Kessler hit Joe with his best and stunned him, I guarantee that if Pavlik hits him like that? Joe's in big trouble.

Its gonna b Cal vs Hop's most likely but Joe needs 3 to tie and 1 to break Louis's AT defense record.

I don't see why almost all Calzaghe fans don't like Pavlik. You can dislike some Pavlik fans, but it's hard to dislike Pavlik as a fighter and a person. He's humble and gives his all in the ring. Pavlik just won his first belt and is concentrating on the middleweight division. Calzaghe is going to 175, that's two divisions over Pavlik. when Pavlik is in the same division with Calzaghe I think he can compete with him. People here are too quick to put down Pavlik, even Joe Calzaghe has already said that he'll knock Pavlik out.

    NO NO NO.

Jose i started this thread because of fans that thought Pavlik would KO Joe and not long ago they were saying Pavlik beats Tommie Hearns i mean enough is enough.

Pavlik is great for our sport but just because he beat Tayor doesnt make him an All Time Great like Calzaghe and Hearns are.

This was to shut the Newbie boxing fans and the Pavlik Nuthuggers up in such a way were actual fight fans that knew the game could breakdown why Calzaghe would beat Kelly everytime.

    Nothing more.

Come on Boppa, no real Pavlik fans started those ******ed threads. IMO most were threads started by people wanting to discredit a young guy who has fought his way to his first belt with hard work. It was Calzaghe's fans that started a boat load of threads before Pavlik even made it to the dressing room about "Oh yeah, well Calzaghe would kick his ass", and the very next day there was news of Calzaghe issueing a challenge and invitation to Pavlik on his website. What you do get as resoponses some times now though are devoted Pavlik fans that have watched the hard earned rise of the young man that are TIRED of seeing this **** start to get defensive. Pavlik has never called out Joe, nor have any of his real fans.
