.. have any of you actually seen the fight? :huh

Or do you just look up some compilation of Whitaker on you tube slipping(impressively) a few of Oscar's flurries and assume the whole fight was like this?

For a long time the only Whitaker/Hoya fight on youtube was a carefully edited version which showed all the rounds but edited in Whitaker's favor. This version survived for a long time by itself. And then someone posted the whole fight unedited and it was a whole different story then.

It wasn't a robbery, a close fight like that is not a robbery. I had DLH winning by one point.

Maybe you're mixed up with Whitaker vs Chavez, that was a one-sided beating from Whitaker, I gave Chavez two rounds only in that fight and they awarded him a draw. But hey, I hate to change the topic here, this is Chavez we're talking about. His career is based on robberies and beating over 80 Tijuana Cabdrivers and dishwashers.

I had DLH up by only one point too.

Agree with you about Whitaker over Chavez. That definately was a one sided fight.

However Chavez' win over Taylor was a very good win. Yes, Taylor was winning all the rounds and could have won had he not got caught at the end. The only reason I think its such a good win was because Chavez had Taylor fighting a Chavez style fight and for this reason won. Taylor should have been smart and gone used his naturally superior skills.

I remember that robbery. I remember Oscar getting outlanded, knocked down, and missing most of his shots. Oscar gave the air a terrible beating that night.

I agree...Pea won that fight...I always loved the way that people claimed that Oscar was trying to make the fight and Whitaker was running....Karma is a *****, cuz Oscar was robbed in the same fashion in his fight with Tito...It all evens out in the end:good

It was not a robbery IMO but Whitaker won. I saw the fight numerous times and WHitaker's jab won him the fight. Oscar's flurries were largely ineffective.

Was it coincidence that the younger more marketable fighter won by unresonable margins on ALL 3 judges scorecard?
Judge for yourself and keep in mind that Whitaker was the champion and an ATG while Oscar was only the challenger.

People who scored for DH did not watch closely. You got to really pay attention which blows land and which does not.

DH shots look good but they mostly did not land cleanly or missed the target completely. Whitaker was landing the clean jab with stunning regularity.
Also, Whitaker's ring generalship was very effective. Oscar's could not mount any pressure and Whitaker made Oscar fight his fight.

Watch the fight closely again while paying more attention to the landed punches without the biased Lampley comments.

Seen it live on TV. I was rooting for DLH back then, but actually though that Whitaker won.

I don't mind the fight going either way, but 9-3 for DLH was so extreme.
