Read Pacquiao's own words before their fourth meeting:

"MANILA, Philippines – Boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao again made it clear that his fabled rivalry with Mexico’s “Dinamita” Juan Manuel Marquez will end on December 8.

Pacquiao said that it has to end on their fourth fight where both boxers will be gunning for a clear-cut win, something that has eluded them in their first three encounters.

“[I believe I can knock him out]… I do, and I said so during the media tour, something I have never done before,” the Filipino boxer told World Boxing News.

When asked if he’ll fight Marquez again in case of another controversial ending on December 8, Pacquiao replied: “[There will be] no fifth fight.”

So Pacquiao stated that he'd reject a fifth fight with Marquez even if he was handed a gift decision, but somehow Marquez needs to fight him again after putting him to sleep? GTFO!

The impression I got from the pre-fight interviews, everyone(Pac, Arum, Roach, etc) involved with the fourth fight seemed to agree that win or lose this would be their last fight.

    Good find though!

A rematch is a must. The rematch will make more money than any of their other fights period. Marquez was ready to be knocked out, then landed a lucky punch from left field because Pac got careless, so there is some unfinished business. I would love to see this fight.....................

Wishful thinking. And Marquez specifically practiced that perfectly executed punch, there was nothing "lucky" about it.

There's a major difference here if you have the brains to comprehend. Pacquiao gave him four chances/fights, it's now finally Marquez' turn and he obviously doesn't want to.

I think it's somewhat low-brow of Marquez to refuse Pacquiao a rematch. Pacquiao didn't have to give him 2 rematches, but did so for honour. You can argue the 4th fight was different because it was a knock out, but it was hardly a knock out of the Hearns-Duran variety. Pacquiao was taking control of the fight and could had stopped Marquez had it continued.

Marquez' life philosophy is basically rematch until you win. If he was confident he could win a 5th fight he'd go for it.

We see him now bitching about the decision with Bradley; had the result been the other way around I doubt Marquez would rematch Bradley.

Pac was forced to take those fights cause he didn't convince too many people about winning any of the first three.

    JMM left no doubt. KFTO6.

Marquez got what he wanted, and ran! A 5th fight would be interesting. Pacquaio by TKO.

Hey, I'm perfectly fine with the outcome, and I don't blame Marquez. I'm kinda laughing at it. Brutal KO wasn't on the list of possibilities for team Pacquiao. Pacquiao was so certain that this chapter of his career would be finished, that he said no need for a 5th fight(pre-fight). Of course, all of that changed post fight. hahaha

Still, Marquez landed a once in a lifetime shot, albeit one that he planned for. It's just that it was so perfect, beautiful, and well-timed. Just perfect. I don't think he lands in that same way again to duplicate the 4th fight. If they fight again, Pacquiao will win by TKO. He had the momentum in the 5th and 6th, and that's where he will pick it in round 43.

Pac has had the momentum since the very first round of the first fight(with those 3 KDs) and has always been outboxed by JMM(from 130-147 lbs).

People still think that just because Pac landed that "lucky :)yep)" punch in the nose and made JMM bleed he was on his way to a win. There was still over 6 rounds to go. Pac has a shot now cause 40 yr old Marquez is definitely on the slide:deal

Marquez forever tarnished his reputation by linking with Memo Heredia
Heredia's expertise is one thing and one thing only

With VADA in place for the next fight, he will not have steroid infused power that developed out of nowhere.
I suppose that's why he wants to rematch Bradley in Mexico City

He didn't say he'd reject a fifth fight. It was Marquez who rejected it at all cost. So Pac is reinstating there is no fifth fight.
