I'd be more forgiving of Carl Froch going on about being "robbed" against Kessler if he hadn't got a blatant gift in his fight against Dirrell.

Anyway, history will record Froch "beat" Dirrell and I don't think there are too many people who are unhappy about that fact.

Exactly right. It would have been bad for boxing had Dirrel got the decision, he had himself to blame on losing a fight he could have won.

I agree. Dirrell stunk the joint out that night and has now gone on to disgrace himself on a further two occasions. He's the biggest coward in boxing

When did Spud say he had won ABA's?

I'm positive he said he hadn't fought before...he'd only trained...

Dirrell did not deserve a win, he ran like a little fairy for 12 rounds.
    This is boxing, not track.

The best fighters tend to be the defensive fighters, guys who are able to disengage the opponent, shut his offense down, and get their own off, which is what Dirrell did. What is the difference between what Dirrell did, to what Hopkins always does? he probably throws less punches, fights dirty and can be construed as fighting negatively.

What Mora was doing against Mosley was nothing like what Dirrell did to Froch, as Dirrell was landing clean shots on Froch, which is why at one point, he hurt Froch momentarily.

The only thing Dirrell is guilty of, is not taking into account, that when fighting away from home, if you get a bum decision, fans are more inclined to excuse it as they can apply the old chestnut that you have to take! the title from the champ, that you cant fight that way away from home and expect to get the nod, but why not? it was good enough for Haye, I dont see many Brits discrediting the way he fought, and that fight was boring as hell compared to this one. This outdated notion that you have to TAKE the title from the champ is BS imo, as is this notion about "making the fight", matter of fact, I know if Dirrell was English, that British fans would of jumped all over this injustice, now I dont particularly like Dirrell, but he won that fight imo.

I mean how you gonna reward a guy for direction of motion when he is missing, and the other guys is landing punches? I mean how ridiculous does that sound when the object of the game is to land punches on the opponent? also, why do you have to take!! the title, are we saying that the champ can win rounds by default in that case, based on what you DONT do?

Hopkins can fight on the inside, and routinely does so. Dirrell did not, can not, and will not. Why? Beats the hell out of me, but it is what it is. That's an entire aspect of the fight, handed to Froch on a silver platter because Dirrell kept flailing in, hanging on Froch, and doing no work. Dirrell jumps in, gets hit by a little shot or two in the clinch, then the clinch gets broken up. Froch won the exchange every time that happened.

Also, Froch was landing punches throughout the fight. It's not like Dirrell put on a Willie Pep masterclass and why he thought he could win without countering for 90% of it is beyond my damn comprehension.

Froch got a gift? He sure did. Too bad Dirrell's the one who gave it to him.
