I hate when a young talented boxer loses and some people can't wait to declare him a fraud. Pirog is an outstanding boxer himself. Who knows how the fight would have turned out had Pirog not landed that right hand in the 5th. If you youtube him you will see that he has a lot of talent/skills/ability despite having less than 20 pro fights. I looked him up and watched him before the Jacobs fight. Before watching the videos I was sure Jacobs would win. I was not as sure after watching him. As for Jacobs. He will bounce back from this he is an outstanding young boxer. He got caught with a great punch. That not many middleweights would be standing if they were hit by it. I expect great things from Jacobs and Pirog in the future.
That's an indictment of the judges & boxing itself because that Russian was kicking his ass even before the KO. I was in Brooklyn with my friend who's from Brownsville(jacobs hometown) rooting for for him, and we thought he won one round at best and got outclassed the majority of the fight.
Don't forget, Pirog is the guy who taught Ali how to do the Ali shuffle. There is no shame in losing to such a man-beast. :good
