Maybe physically he does, and that's a good sign, but certainly it doesn't tell the whole story. These men looked great at the weigh-in as well, while in reality their reflexes and workrate weren't anywhere what they used to be: This content is protected This content is protected Maybe Klitschko is as good as he used to be, but i'm sceptic... great conditioning or not, a 4 year lay-off inevitably has its consequences, especially when one is 37 year old and has always had injuries.
first of all... peter is not toney and klitschko is not holyfield lol. completley different situations and fighters.. Klitschko is a smart man and he wouldnt have come back if he didnt feel he was mentally or physically prepared to come back. He will knock out peter by the 3rd or 4th or the fight will be stopped on cuts
Agreed...however did you see the public work out of Vitali for this fight also those two men (james toney and holyfield) have taken many many many many shots to the head...reflexes is more from brain injury like these men have faced over long careers...Vitali has not been hit in the head often or much. Vitali has injuries and with him being in professional sports for so long what people have over looked is the 4 years off actrually I believe will help Vitali.
I thought James Toney was fine at age 35 and 217 pounds, while Holy looked ripped but slow at age 40 and roughly 219 pounds back in '03.... NOW! Sam Peter is a hefty and bulky 253 1/2 pounds and Vitali Klit is a slender but well toned 247 pounds... I fully expect a good fight that goes about 6 or 7 rds..... GO KLITSCHKO!! MR.BILL
I do NOT see any evidence of steroid use at all on Klitschko.... His body looks naturally trained to me... Cheers...
The point is that Holyfield looked like he was gonna kick ass, looked as ripped as he was against Bowe, but he could only fight effectively for a few rounds, with shot reflexes.
Physically, these men look fine. This fight intrigues me based on the question marks surrounding Vitali that it could answer.
Thats because holyfield has a decent amount of brain damage...if you listen to when he talked 5 years ago and how he talks now you can notice a huge difference in his speech which ontop of slower reflexes is a sign of brain trauma.
Vitali hasn't had a tune up so the thread starter is right, we have no idea what Vitali's reflexes are and whether he can still fight like he did before. He may look fit but might not be the same fighter. All these questions will only be answered once he's in the ring.
It's all about timing. If he hasn't regained that, no amount of fitness training and power is going to help him. His offense and defense will be out of sync and he will be ktfo.
