    who had thompson, austin, brock and rahamn beat in the 2 years leading up to there title shot?

    we should just line up another American bum like arreola that's beaten nobody to get a title shot. Monte Barret is a better win that anyone on the 5 americans i have mentioned records (excluding lewis for rahman of course) and Tomas Bonin.

    In Hayes 22 fights he has fought 5 current or former world champions, 2 world title challangers and 5 world ranked opponents. sure it was at a lower weight but how many fighters move up and challenge for titles straight away, the rule should be no different for heavyweight even if the jump is more drastic.

    former or current world champ;

    macceranelli, mormeck, fragomeni, thompson, williams

    world title challangers;

    Barret, Kelly

    world ranked when haye fought them;

    Abdoul, Johanesson, Gurov, Rossito, delany

    fighters that have moved up in weight ang gone into a world title fight after less than 2 fights.

    taylor, calzaghe, pacquiao, de la hoya, mayweather.................the list is endless

    if someone can name 5 former or current world champions, 2 world title challengers and 5 world ranked opponents or more that those 5 americans (4 of wlads opponents in hso cucrrent title run and next proposed opponent) have faced within 5 years of there title shot i will change my aviator to a photo of ray austin for 1 month.

    wlad only counts as 1 fighter.

    well we all know it doesn't take a lot to earn a title shot at a higher weight, let alone HW.

    But i agree Barrett was a solid opponent, as Haye finished him quicker than Wlad and Valuev, hell the ropes finished himquickest! LOL.

    I hope Haye gets a shot at Wlad, it would be the most exciting HW fight, whoever wins, since lewis vitali.

    Its the biggest fight at heavyweight at the mo.And if not haye who does deserve a shot?

    I suspect that the arguments are because people on the other side sometimes act as if Wlad HAS to fight Haye. I agree though, he's as deserving as anyone from an athletic standpoint. I don't like his mouth, but he can fight and I hope it comes off.

    Regardless of the other fighters posted.... David Haye has not done anything to deserve a title shot...Monte Barrett is decent but one fight at heavyweight(not including the Bonin fight) because Haye went down again to cruiser...is not a reason to get a title fight.... he should fight a live opponent who has a shot at beating him in my opinion to receive a title shot..... look at Povetkin, Chambers, Gomez, Dimitrenko, Arreola or even an old Toney...if he had fought any of these guys who are relatively active and not too old besides Toney i would think he would deserve a shot...I remember Holy worked his way through a few tough fights at heavy (Dokes and Stewart)before he got his shot...but no one knew how good Holy would be at heavy..he just turned out special

    What makes the fight interesting is the bad blood and the right hand of Haye and the chin of Vlad. Some egos are at stake here. If Haye wins then he will fight Vitali who will then beat him. Do I think he could beat Vlad? Probably not. If he hits him he could knock him out, but he has to take a chance and I am not sure he will land that punch clean. Haye would be eating jabs as he was waiting to land his right hand. I think those jabs would be too hard for him and he would then get the follow up right and be stopped.

    Thompson and Austin were MANDATORY fights because surprise unlike Haye they actually fought their way to that spot rather then just talk all the time and then handpick Monte Barrett.

    I think a champion moving up in weight DOES have enough credit to deserve an immediate title shot. Roy Jones did it, as did Hatton, Mayweather Oscar, Hopkins, Conn, HIStory is full of precident on this, the list goes on and on of champions moving up in weight and going straight for a title shot.

    If Haye were being skipped over for a more credible opponent, that would be okay; but to dismiss Haye's credentials as to being worthy is not right. He's just as worthy as anyone else at this point, perhaps more so, given the weak state of big men in the sport right now.

    Yeah alright he went back down 2 cruiser 4 2 more fight in which he won 3 world titles apart from haye no1 deserves a title shot more apart from povetkin and would of got it hadnt he got injured and will get his shot after vlads next fight anyway, so that only leaves haye which is the biggest fight at heavy imo(apart from if the klit bros went at it of cousre).

    Answer: More than 1 other HW.

    Haye was/is unquestionably a world-class Cruiser. But moving from Cruiser to HW is not the same as moving from 135 to 140 or even 168 to 175. What is questionable is how Haye can handle fighters who are 50 lbs heavier, which is why he needs more experience in the division. I'm not saying he is uncapable of winning a title at HW, I'm just saying he is not ready.

    Thompson and Austin beat nobodies and half assed fighters to get their cracks at the title. Austin's best fight was a draw against Iggy, so I guess that gets you a title fight now adays. Thompson's only claim to fame was not losing for like 7 years, did you see the guys he fought over that time, when a busted up Luan Krasniqi is your best win, something aint right. Thompson's resume resembled that of Tye Fields over that time span, no wonder why he hadn't lost in so long.

    Haye didnt earn his spot, but neither did those guys. Unlike Austin and Thompson, Haye actually has a chance to win, and has the skillset tobeat Wlad, wether he does or not is still to be determined.

    He is rated #2 by WBO; #6 by WBA; #4 by WBC and # 11 by IBF so he definitely deserves a shot . . . what he doesn't deserve is acting like he is the ****ing belt holder and dictate terms.

    . . . if he wants the fight . . . then fight under the belt holders terms and conditions . . . if he wins and get the titles . . . then that is the time for him to make demands and dictate his terms. :deal

    Barrett is in no way better than Thompson, Rahman, especially since Rahman beat Barrett, or Brock.

    And who is saying for him to fight Arreola, most people want him to fight Chagaev or Povetkin.
