Christ, of course he wants Wlad - it's his best payday, his potential route to a belt and all the soft defenses that come with it (and the WBA belt is hostage for the next year+).

All this talk does one major thing: tries to get him out of having to fight a HW in the top 20 who might upset him. Better to go straight to the title shot if it can be pulled off.

I like and admire Wlad, but I don't know why they don't get this fight done. I'm sure he doesn't need the $$ of soft defenses, this is easily the best available payday, he should win the damn fight and there's always the rematch clause. Maybe they like the risk/reward of the Arreola fight better?

    Anyway, in sum:
    - Haye: loudmouth avoiding fighting for #1 ranking (not that big a deal though - done at lower weight classes all the time - guys move up in weight to title fights very quickly)
    - Wlad: delaying fighting what is likely his most dangerous opponent. Don't really get why.
    - if the fight isn't made, I think they both look lousy (or, at least, their lawyers do)

you answered your own thought.... "dont know why" there is no reason...Wlad has sent signed contracts....he wants it... I think Haye wants it... IMO Haye needs to put his HUGE ego to the side for an hour...look at the deal...make changes with Wlad and SIGN

Rematch clauses are standard for title shots. Period.
