I dont think that Mayorga vs Forrest 2 was that close.

Forrest despite being the much better boxer lost on points because of sheer terror.

mayorga is more exciting and would sell more PPV for them plus he had just Ko'd Forrest...Mayorga's style and personality allow him to be a marketable fighter till this day

Forrest clearly lost that fight, that's why it was an MD. The HBO bought judges tried thier best but could not find it in thier hearts to give the decision to Vernon.

Or perhaps those HBO checks were not large enough.....

Taylor had a wide lead in the Pavlik fight too before it was stopped.

I don't know of one big boxing fan that respects Dan Rafael or cares about his opinions.

I had Pavlik up every time I watched it.

I'll tell you what, since you're so much more credible than respected columnist Dan Rafael why don't you send your resume in to ESPN and maybe you can take his job.

Don King for one but Mayorga at least drawed in the second fight.

GBP didnt ever really mind Taylor winning because he knew he could make a lot of money off him no matter what.

HBO may hate Hopkins more than they do Dibella (Taylor's promoter)

 If it was only that simple..

Dude, you can make a new thread asking people what they think of Dan Rafael and I guarantee you the majority of them will say they don't like him or his opinions. There are at least 25 people on this forum that know a lot more about boxing and its history and can analyze it twice as well as Rafael. There are also better boxing writers than him on other, smaller sites.

You could make a thread about ANY respected analyst and boxing writer and you would get the same thing actually. Fans of boxing only respect analysts when they praise their favorite fighter.

I don't care about polls on this site. There is a reason respected columnist Dan Rafael is where he is today. The man knows his ****.
