After 6, Taylor was ahead by one point after with the 10-8 second round. IMO, Taylor won both B-Hops fights, the first one was damn close, but Taylor edged it because he did all of the work for the first 8-9 rounds. I can see why people feel for Hops though because he took the stretch big time, with Taylor in trouble in spots.

But being honest, I scored the with Spinks for the Challenger. Taylor didn't do jack **** that whole fight. That's also why Manny Steward was having a got damned stroke in the corner, and also why Spinks was celebrating with :30 to go and after the bell.

dan rafael is a huge joke

He scored round 9 of Cotto-Mosley to Cotto (Mosley's best round of the fight)

he scored round 9 of Calzaghe-Kessler to Kessler (Calzaghe's best round of the fight)

I wouldnt be surprised if he scored round 1 of Pac-Jmm to Pac. (Having Jmm been knocked down 3 times)

Everyone has an off night every now and then. Back to respected columnist Dan Rafael. If no one respects him how come he's the lead boxing writer for a major media outlet? Whenever there is a big fight, who's one of the first guys ESPN contacts for an opinion? Respected columnist Dan Rafael, that's who.

He was sitting at ringside for these fights. He has a different perspective than some guy sitting at home on his couch. You have a lot of nerve questioning respected columnist Dan Rafael's ability to score a fight. The man is the lead boxing columnist for ESPN. When you attain such a prestegious position, then you can start calling people like Rafael a joke.

Didn't Rafael score every single round for Jermain?

Damn, I'd have to look it up, but now that you said I do believe I remember reading that.

BigReg, I've never seen anybody defend Rafael like that. Do you know him personally?

HBO doesn't buy judges, but judges sometimes consider (maybe even subconsciously) what is best for their career when HBO is covering a fight they judge.

Of course he was ahead. That much was obvious.

    Didn't save him, though.

Found it: It doesn't say it's from Rafael himself, so who knows who kept score. If I were that guy, I wouldn't want my name attached to this scorecard either. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=3041197

The first round could have been either guy's.

Other than that, I can't argue with the dude's scores.

I had Taylor ahead at the time of stoppage and I was rooting for Pavlik. Also I had Taylor winning both Hopkins fights.
