to what extent does a trainer have a impact on a fighter

    iv always felt you cant just take a mature fighter and expect them to learn or change much if they just swap trainers...

    Just look at Garcia with Maidana for a current example

    depends on what stage of the career the boxer is at and how long they work together.

    Less and less as they grow older.

    But they will always be fundamental in coming up with a game plan, encouraging their fighter and managing his camp.

    A shitty trainer won't produce a great boxer if he has him from the ground up. A shitty trainer can hurt a lot.

    Wlad held a title before him but NOBODY considered him the champ. Manny turn Wlad into Lennox light which is good enough to dominate this **** era

    The talent has to be their in the first place but the right trainer with the right fighter can make a good fighter great. As someone else has mentioned Steward took Wlad and turned him from a decent title holder to become THE champion, he did the same with Lewis.

    Would Bowe have ever been good enough to be champion without Futch? Probably not. Great trainers make a difference as do shitty ones.
