People complain all the time about the Klitschko era but I think today’s heavyweights are hardly an improvement. I would back the big two (the Klitschkos) to beat everyone in the division today bar Fury (and maybe Usyk). Wlad lost to AJ and Fury at the tail end of his career when he was already past his best years. The other top contenders such as Povetkin, Haye, Peter, Byrd are on a similar level to guys like Ortiz, Hrgovic, Joyce, Whyte, Ruiz etc. I will say there are more top guys today with the big four. However I don’t think Joshua is all that special, Fury is vastly overrated imo by some, and Wilder is a dangerous but heavily flawed fighter. Usyk is a great fighter but he too is vulnerable especially to the body area and he’s naturally a much smaller heavyweight. Regardless I see little improvement in terms of the overall quality of fighters and the constant ducking and dodging of fights doesn’t help either. Wlad at least fought and beat all the top contenders bar his brother (naturally). How does everyone else see this comparison? Is the division today truly better than the Klitschko era or are people overestimating the quality of fighters today?
Todays is way better. With the Saudi money it’s way way better. Parker would be your typical Klitschko opponent and there are many guys now that would beat Parker.
