Remembered greatly for the good deeds he did for the African-American people of his time, and remembered greatly in the boxing world for his absolutely ridiculous feat of defending his Undisputed Heavyweight Championship 26 times, reigning as Heavyweight Champion from 1937 to 1950 May God, in his infinite wisdom, bless his warrior soul. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCwvi5uTwsI&t
Yep they really **** on poor old Joe. What a fighter. 25 defence s and only 3 losses. He was an hero and a icon.
Joe was an advanced fighter, full stop. Nothing more satisfying than watching Louis’ text book executions, pin point accuracy, subtle offensive/defensive nuances to his game, his combination punching and, of course, his explosive, beautifully leveraged power. Just watching Louis hit the heavy bag (wish there was more footage of same) is way more entertaining than watching some actual fights between other HWs. Show me a mod fighter who has thrown anything like the three left hooks landed on Max Baer for the 2nd KD - the bell saved Max but not for long. As impressive as Ali’s double left hook, right hand KD of Williams was, Joe’s 2nd KD of Baer rates somewhat higher imo.
